So thus it isn't necessarily that they're racist but that they're so myopic in regards to the narrative that the distinction actually becomes meaningless?
 
This was covered in the SJW thread ages ago, but SJWs fail to speak with a single voice on Jewish identity. Some of them have gone so far as to claim Jews are not white and that they're just as discriminated against as any other non-white minority, while others do what has been described here. The ability of SJWs to talk past each other while claiming they agree means that a lot of these contradictions are never really sorted out or even acknowledged.

Nah they would find another reason.

And yeah you are right they definitely adopt the trappings of the far-right, but mostly because they are authoritarian. If you look at the alt-right, these guys are basically SJWs but taking opposite stances (#WhiteLivesMatter, etc)
 
The National Inquirer is alleging they have evidence of Cruz cheating with five different women. The story already has a hashtag (archived here for our grandchildren) which according to heavy.com is trending worldwide.

EDIT: earlier Trump threatened to "spill the beans" on Heidi Cruz, Ted's wife. While the threat would imply he had embarassing info on Heidi rather than Ted, it is tempting for me to connect Trump's threat to the recent allegations. Drawing the connection is even more tempting seeing that one of the alleged mistresses has been identified as a Trump spokeperson.

I also recommend reading Mike Cernovich's blog post on this story. While my opinion of Cernovich is far from high, he did embed in his post a couple of interesting tweets from Allum Bokhari suggesting that Breitbart (for which Bokhari works) already had knowledge of the story as far back as February.

EDIT 2: There's also another tweet Cernovich embedded to his post which I missed. Apparently a Washington Times writer already said three weeks ago that Trump will leak info about Cruz's alleged indiscretions:

The National Enquirer's CEO is one of Trump's closest friends and they've been running a bunch of smears against whoever is currently Trump's biggest pain

All sorts of crazy stories, all false and all worded in a way to make it sure they can't get sued for it. A complete non-starter. Yes, yes they've been right a couple of times. They've also been wrong tens of thousands of time.

Here's the exposure the story is currently getting in mainstream outlets:

*Salon published an article saying this should not be an issue. Despite of the writer's position she still giving coverage to the story and airing it to Salon's liberal readership.
*It's on Foxsports as well.
*The Sun has likewise picked up on the story.

Not a lot of mainstream exposure, if I were Cruz I'd hope this isn't the beginning of a trend among outlets not sympathetic to Donald Trump.

I personally don't find National Enquirer to be credible at all. I'd call them the Buzzfeed of tabloids, but at least Buzzfeed has some ethical standards.
 
Whatever the veracity of the claims, Ted Cruz has chosen to publicly deny the allegations, which means this story is now open season for mainstream new outlets to cover.

One of the women allegedly involved, Amanda Carpenter, was confronted with it on CNN by a Trump supporter. She outright denies the story and said that you can talk to her lawyer about it.

The National Enquirer is the perfect vehicle to push attacks out to people inclined to vote for a reality TV star. You have to hand it to Trump, he knows his audience.
