All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

Well, I swear I've heard somewhere that the FBI is looking into Clinton's various misdeads, so it may not be the worse idea. It may be optimistic, but weirder things have happened.
Hey, if this means that neither Shitllary Clinton nor Tronald Dump get put in office, I'm okay with that.
Hopefully, New York (my state) is actually smart enough to vote for Bernie Sanders rather than Clinton.

We're going to use you for radiation experiments.
Let me guess you like trump because you're a small business owner who built this all himself just like trump and galt?

I can't be too hard on you, after all...

I wish I could give a deviant rating just for funzies.
If Trump wins America will finally have its first ween president.
If Trump wins, the US will have the first president with an alien brain parasite masquerading as a wig for president.

If you look at last night's results in terms of delegates, it's not quite as bad on the GOP side as the narrative would make you believe. Everything goes back to momentum, though. Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, and Washington state vote on Saturday, so we'll see what happens.

I'm not sure how anyone can stop him now.

Cruz has more delegates and wins than Marco does for now, but Marco polls much, much better in northern states. Cruz gets decimated where there isn't a large amount of hyper conservative voters. Rubio does better with moderates but trump can poach both of those constituencies. Trump is also leading almost everywhere else.

Cruz wont drop out because he's second and rubio wont drop out because he's 'winning the expectation game'. That's coupled with Kasich sucking more potential votes away from Rubio. He wont drop out either because he came so close to beating trump in Vermont.

Nobody is completely crippled BUT everyone's continued presence in the field leaves the race too chaotic to manage.

I don't think there's a way of stopping trump bar something massive changing like Cruz/Rubio dropping out or trump doing something unspeakable like public dog fucking.

>expectation game

This is like one of those tard trophies they give everyone who participated so they don't cry.

It doesn't mean you have a chance.

Yeah, it's like a perfect storm for the not-Trump candidates. Neither Cruz nor Rubio has failed sufficiently that they're going to feel any significant pressure to leave the race, but none of them have succeeded sufficiently to start pulling in voters from the other not-Trump candidates.

We already had Ted Roosevelt and Taft.

BULLAAAAAY! :julay:

Honestly, Trump strikes me more as Silvio Berlusconi than Hitler. He swaggers, has pull with the media, and wants to rule a country that's going down the toilet. His friendliness with Fascism is mostly for the rubes, as well.

Same cosmetics choices, too - fake tan, reverse raccoon eyes, and white guyliner. I like to imagine they watch the same youtube makeup gurus.

I don't know why everyone is discounting Bernie already, he won four states. He's less than 4% behind in delegates if you don't count superdelegates

Like Silvio, he probably also partly wants to be President to be in charge of the Department of Justice so he won't be prosecuted by it himself.

That's a shame. I was hoping that he would stick around and continue to sap a delegate or two from Trump here and there. Although a brokered election would probably not end up with my preferred candidate receiving the nomination, it would certainly not end with Trump receiving the nomination, and that's good enough for me.

On another note, for those of you who care, the Libertarian Party and the Green Party held caucuses in Minnesota, and the results are in line with what everyone already expected:

March 1, 2016

In several states including Minnesota, “Super Tuesday” featured highly contested races between multiple contenders in both the Republican and Democratic presidential races, undoubtedly spurring higher than usual turnout among the public for those parties.

Exactly 227 Minnesotans decided that they didn’t care.

Not wanting to be fooled anymore by the Two Big Old parties, they came to the Libertarian caucuses instead, ready to support something better. Conducted in every region of the state, those who came gave the Libertarian Party of Minnesota its highest caucus turnout in its history.

Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, the only Libertarian presidential candidate to have campaigned in Minnesota due to his previous 2012 candidacy, was the overwhelming favorite in all regions, except for one. In Minneapolis, Johnson tied with software magnate John McAfee for 1st Choice votes.

The LPMN used Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) to conduct its presidential preference poll. Statewide, the top four 1st Choice vote-getters were: Gary Johnson 75.3%, John McAfee 11.9%, Austin Petersen 7.5%, and Darryl Perry 1.8%.

Among the top four 2nd Choice vote-getters: John McAfee 36.4%, Gary Johnson 18.7%, Austin Petersen 17.3%, and Steve Kerbel 11.7%.

A graph of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Choices shows that Johnson, McAfee, Petersen, Kerbel, and Perry are among the top tier of presidential contenders in a busy race of 12 Libertarian candidates (see inset graphic).

Minnesota Libertarians are gearing up for a third Libertarian Presidential Debate to be held March 7 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
