All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

How many times do i have to hear "Trump is not a Republican/Conservative" this election?

I mean....... DUUUUUH!

I wonder, who would hypothetically be more warmongering and trigger-happy on the international stage after getting into the Presidential seat - Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?

Or, for that matter, any other Republican candidate currently in the running?

Say what you want about Sanders he is the only credible candidate right now who isn't campaigning on the basis of "let's bomb somebody".

Sometimes, bombing is the sensible thing to do.

I heard Julian Castro but who do you guys think are in the VP conversation for the democrats? Or even the right for that matter because they've spent so much time slandering each other I don't really see them taking someone else from the running. But this race is anything but predictable.

For the Dems, Elizabeth Warren would be a highly coveted VP pick. Whether or not she'd accept the position has yet to be seen.

On the right, Rubio. He seems to be everyone's second choice.

Rubio has a chance of getting the nomination just being the nicest looking package. One of his faults is that he gets panicky but if Republicans were cool with George W. they'll defend Rubio as their guy.

Bernie Sanders will get the Democratic nomination beating Hillary narrowly in the delegate count at the DNC.

If Sanders gets the nomination he will probably go (comparatively)* right for his Veep. Castro would be a good choice. I would say O'Malley but he's done too poorly to escape the "loser" brand. Some people have mentioned Jim Webb but he's really too right wing. Others have suggested Wendy Davis but she's too inexperienced right now (although watch out in 2024). If I was Sanders' advisor I'd advise him to pick Cory Booker.

No idea with the GOP, the field's too spread. But I think both Christie or Kasich would work well as a Vice Presidential candidate for all the major front runners right now, and I think both are already actively (if quietly) campaigning for it.

*Obviously he's still going to pick somebody most Americans, even most Democrats, view as a leftist, hilarious as a Sanders/Carson ticket would be

He isn't a conservative, though. Just listen to his criticism of Scott Walker's economic policies in Wisconsin.

Hey, I happen to agree with them, but that shit is pure DNC.

Strip away the casual xenophobia and most of his policies are actually liberal. He supports gay marriage, at least from time to time, while hedging his bets on the issue.

And hey, in terms of corruption and the appearance of corruption, Trump never took $675,000 from Goldman Sachs like Hillary did.

And it's not like this shit is just me being a left wing faggot and concern trolling about it.

Rush Limbaugh also agrees.

I think it's simply a fact that on substantive policy issues, Trump is not a standard Republican. This is actually one of the things that is not bad about him, and clearly, from the support he's garnered among lifetime Republicans, the party itself is out of touch with its voting base.

And as much shit as I talk on Trump and as much as I don't really care much for him personally, I think this candidacy has actually done some good in terms of shaking up the political establishment. The GOP hasn't really helped much either when all they can seem to cough up is slimeballs like Ted Cruz. Nobody likes that guy, even people who agree with him.

If I was Sanders' advisor I'd advise him to pick Cory Booker.

Booker would be a phenomenal pick.

I rather think he has his own designs on the White House, though.

Hillary can legitimately win across the South and the states that Sanders might win are rigged to give her the superdelegates. It's pretty much a lock for her to win the nomination.
As someone from the South, I think you're severely overestimating any power the Clintons have down here. Bill at least had the bravado to make that work. The only people I know that actually like Hillary are moneyed interests and people who treat feminism as a matter of religous dogma.
