Yeah if you pick Veteran (or something like that) as Shepard's background he got a medal for killing a bunch of Batarian slavers, it's what made him a candidate for the Spectres.
I looked it up 2 out 3 of three Psychological Profile involve murdering Batarians.

  • War Hero: Early in your military career you found yourself facing an overwhelming enemy force. You risked your own life to save your fellow soldiers and defeat the enemy despite the impossible odds. Your bravery and heroism have earned you medals and recognition from the Alliance fleet. The War Hero almost single-handedly repelled an attack by batarian slavers on Elysium, earning the Star of Terra, the Alliance's highest honor.
    • War Heroes begin the game with bonus Paragon points and have special dialogue in the UNC: Espionage Probe assignment.
  • Ruthless: Throughout your military career, you have held fast to one basic rule: get the job done. You've been called cold, calculating, and brutal. Your reputation for ruthless efficiency makes your fellow soldiers wary of you. But when failure is not an option, the military always goes to you first. The Ruthless character sent 3/4ths of his/her unit to its death and murdered surrendering batarians on Torfan.
    • Ruthless characters begin the game with bonus Renegade points and have special dialogue in the UNC: Major Kyle assignment.

If you picked Ruthless your Shepard def canoe'd a Batarian.

Lol, my first Shepard had the Ruthless profile, which is funny because I mostly went Paragon, minus punching the reporter in all three games.

in the next mass effect game, mass effect 4 you are going to play as a AI robot that has shepards personality uploaded to it, and there are a bunch of stodgy old white admirals that are in charge of ordering you around, and they're gonna give you shitty orders like "nah, dont bother saving those colonists, theres no time, stick to the mission" but if you choose to save them, that will give you renegade points, so if you make the more human choices, executive decisions, that will give renegade points, but if you follow their shitty orders you get paragon points, its going to be an inversion, screencap this, my dad works at nintendo

And the Shepard you play as is a nonbinary black woman who don’t need no man. Forget about the FemShep of the past, this is who the higher-ups want as the face of their game franchise.

This but you end up playing as Citadel Shepard 2 who survived somehow.

Or let's get even dumber. You play as Shepard 1, who was being resurrected in the Lazarus project but instead they cloned that Shepard because they were lagging behind and in ME 2/3 you play as Shepard 1.5

That'll get everyone a hootin'anhollerin'
