I haven't kept up with the industry for a while outside of joining everyone in mocking the Secret Empire storyline, but I think why this is the case is because Zach is the first time someone was looking at these comics like Squirrel Girl and saying they sucked when he had a big audience. Most of the people prior were just sharing screencaps on Tumblr or here and taking the piss, but Zach was doing that and also getting a lot of traffic. Suddenly the bubble burst and these people had to smell the roses and see that their comics sucked.

So of course, their reaction to this was to accuse Zach and Ethan of being every kind of ism out there and attempt to deplatform them.

Alex Ross sounds like a normie democrat. It's one thing to sperg out about Bush, he was the President of the United States. People like Waid are melting down over a D-list youtube personality.

I remember one of these people mocking those who say they don't want politics in their comics, claiming that they missed the subtext.
It's not that they missed the subtext, it's that they preferred it when it was subtext.

These chucklefucks wouldn't know subtext if it beat them in the face. Instead, they prefer text and supertext.

From their point of view, it's even worse than that. He didn't have much of an audience at all until he began to mock Marvel comics. His channel is just over a year old and started as yet another comic review site, but with shittier production values. When he started to poke fun at the freak show, his numbers took off. He's said many times that America Chavez was the making of him.

Why SJW art sucks is it has no interest whatsoever in satisfying an audience or a market demand, and it is as subtle as a Chick tract. Even if you agree with it, propaganda this crude is shitty art. And I say this knowing full well a lot of Golden Age comics were overtly pro-American and anti-Nazi before and during World War II. The difference is they were good propaganda then, much like Frank Capra's.

These amateurish, childish spergs aren't fit to shine the shoes of Siegel and Shuster, who in fact created Superman as an American response to Nazism. You know who they called Nazis? Actual Nazis.

America was so bad it gave life to dozens of YT comic reviewers. Here’s a preview:

Waid’s writing mostly suffers from TDS and every type of guilt soyguzzlers suffer from. Like I mentioned in the OP with his Captain America story, he made an entire story (2 technically) dedicated to his Trump Derangement Syndrome. I know there are skeletons in Waid’s closet that still haven’t been revealed, you can’t sperg out on the scale he does without trying to hide something.

At this point I can virtually guarantee you he hates anyone darker than milk and has probably sexually harassed and/or molested at least three women. The pattern is clear.
 
Comic Book Resources is actively shutting down discussion of any of this on their forum. Probably because of advertising as much as anything.
 
I will say that the Diversity & Comics Facebook group attracts some cringey spergs though. There are a bunch of dudes melting down over a Thundercats reboot that, yes, is probably going to suck. But it's fucking Thundercats. No need to throw a Chris Chan level tardout over it.

I’m not gonna defend his Facebook sperglings, but have you actually seen this new Thundercats show? It’s not so much that they are rebooting it. It’s that they are making what looks to be an incredibly bad Teen Titans Go rip-off using Thundercats. And Gender neutral/gender fluid character models. It’s certainly nothing worthy of outrage. But dear lord will it be fertile ground for mockery. I predict the show gets its own thread here if it makes it to a full season. It looks like every modern soyboy man child cartoon concentrated into one hideous primordial stew.
