The irony is that Jawbreakers didn't even look that good tbh. It probably would have petered out after the first couple issues if Waid and CO stopped giving Zach more ammo to bitch about. But they can't help themselves, and so they continue to make him seem better than he is.
Jordan Peterson, the Lobster King himself, mentioned in an interview that he found a way to monetize social justice warriors.
And ya boi Zach is following the Crustacean Crusader's example.
Also, there's a link between Zach and Jordan Peterson via Ethan Van Sciver.

Was it worth it, Waid? Was it?:

Jawbreakers exists because Waid et al won't stop whining each time Zach speaks and basically told him to go and write his own seeing as he makes videos in which he seems to have all the answers.

The big thing to remember is that Jawbreakers was asking for enough money to print probably only 1500 or so issues at $2.99 a pop.

Crowdfunding resulted in enough money backing it to print 100,000 issues at $2.99 a pop.

You may notice this as "above average for most comic sales" to the tune of about 30-40,000 issues.

The most amazing thing to me about all this is something I've alluded to before: Zack posed no threat to these people whatsoever. He was just a guy on YouTube snarking on how terrible their comics were. What on earth compelled them to fall on him like a ton of bricks? Yeah, ok, :autism:, but these were people working at one of the two biggest comics houses in the world. How hard would it have been to shrug, say the man is entitled to his opinion, and go on writing moronic Squirrel Girl and Captain Marvel comics?

Its what happens when you mix :autism: with ego. Results are always disastrous.

Because they have such fragile egos at their shitty artwork and crappy storytelling they can't cope any criticism. We've already seen the weird as fuck actions of Waid prior to this latest duff up, which suggests he somehow has enough connections (with the parasitic SJW network, what a shocker) to keep just enough work rolling in. He's obviously unhinged on a level that is outright disturbing but had enough connections available to stop being shoved in the fucking storage locker to count paperclips like he deserves.

Waid probably hoped he'd get enough "woke screamers" on side to drown out anything Zack said or did, swatting him like a fly. Instead all he did was create the Streisand Effect.

With the amount of Left Whingers that endlessly fucking fall for this you'd think someone would learn to not fucking touch the stove by now.

I think he was talking about Ironsights, an earlier project, when Meyer said he wanted it to resemble a direct-to-video 90's action flick. The bonus comic in his current project features his amateur art re-inked by a fan in a style he described as 'free giveaway comic from a cereal box' (it looks pretty awful, too).

Dude has no illusions about what he is, and that thing is not an artiste. That's half the fun of watching him kick all kinds of snooty Marvel ass.

Kingdom Come start to finish was Alex Ross’s story. ... It’s actually a very conservative story. ... Does anyone think such a story could possibly come from the schrieking radical left wing lunatic that we have come to know as a Waid?

I really hope Alex Ross doesn’t fall into the same trap.

Kingdom Come may be a conservative story but Alex Ross is definitely very left-leaning himself. Doesn't anyone remember this piece of art Ross drew during the '08 election that tried to elevate Obama to mythic status?

Edited: Whoops. I almost forgot this lovely piece...

Ross is apparently a very very different breed of leftist than Waid. Ross is a bit more of a classic Kennedy era Liberal. Feed the Hungry, cloth the poor, care for your fellow man sort. Given his business successes in life you would likely find him shaking out as Socially Liberal Fiscally Conservative. With a focus on compassion driven by a solid moral foundation. Whereas Waid is the more authoritarian type leftist. The more modern type that views people as things.

And yet Ross drew cartoons of Bush that would look at home in Der Sturmer.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised comic book artists tend to demonstrate comic book intellects.

If there is two politicians in the 21st century that deserved to be mocked its Bush and Hilldawg.

Let’s be honest the vast majority of indie and small press titles are absolute dogshit. Always have been always will. They are vanity press wannabe fanfic shit.

AP certainly fits the bill there. As far as I can tell, Gold Digger is the only thing keeping that company above water, maybe with a smattering of help from whatever Ninja High School thing they're doing at the moment. The rest of it is vanity projects and buddy handouts that tend to go nowhere and exist only for Ben Dunn (one of the most unoriginal people in the entire comics industry) to be pleased by them.

Despite their numerous questionable practices and general shitty business model, I'd probably feel bad for them in this situation, being bullied by a Big Name and his rabid fans... if they hadn't given in so quickly and pissed all over their new associate on command. For that reason I hope that everything comes to focus on Zach and AP is mostly just a footnote in the whole matter, denying them any sympathy buys.

That art's fucking hilarious.

The biggest difference is Ross used and uses his art to reflect his political bias's and opinions. It is something that art is good for. Ross doesn't attempt to enforce his opinions on others. He doesn't like Bush and drew unflattering politically charged pictures of him. He likes Obama and draws heroic pictures of him. It's a bit heavy handed in the messaging, but it is at least respectful of those around him. Ross's art indicates that he finds Bush evil. Waid's art indicates that he finds EVERYONE that disagrees with him evil worthless nazi scum that should be herded into camps and exterminated. You don't see Ross attacking individuals let alone comic fans on twitter or seeking to physically hunt them down and threaten them at conventions. Simply for having an ideological difference of opinion with him. Ross may be an asshole. But at least he is a private and professional asshole.

Amusingly enough, the reason they always fall for it and touch the hot stove and get burned is because "call-out culture" is parallel reasoning to that found in religion. For example, Ezekiel 3:18-20:

When I say to a wicked person, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.
But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.
"Again, when a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.

This is why the left eats their own, too, and turns hard on the redpilled ones, and all the great things the "righteous" woke people did while they were woke don't count for shit once they get redpilled.

This is really sad because I absolutely love Kingdom Come. Why did the author have to turn out to be a massive piece of shit? I really hope Alex Ross doesn’t fall into the same trap.
Do yourself a huge favor and separate art from artist. I can appreciate a well-made thing even if I know the maker is an otherkin transtrender commie with a history of sexual deviancy because I just want to enjoy the thing this trainwreck made well. Your life will be a lot more fun if you just decide to like a thing despite a spergy creator.

As long as the artist can separate himself from his art, I tend to agree. However, once the artist starts using his art (and remember -- comics are about as commercial an art form as you can get) to espouse his political views or to insist that all of his characters need to think like he does or turns a comic (which, at its core, is about a good guy punching a bad guy until the bad guy falls down) into a springboard for his politics, it becomes a lot more difficult to do so.

To use your example, I would have no problem reading a book written by an otherkin transtrender commie with a history of sexual deviancy. However, if said otherkin transtrender commie with a history of sexual deviancy used the book to show how otherkin transtrender commies with a history of sexual deviancy were awesome, or tried to say that everyone should become otherkin transtrender commies with a history of sexual deviancy, or argued that people who didn't like otherkin transtrender commies with a history of sexual deviancy were bad ... then I might have a problem.

IngSocJus comic pros will always whine that "Comics was ALWAYS political!" and point to golden or silver age comic issues where things like racial discrimination were being addressed.

The thing is though, the former age comics did so with a lot more nuance and not that much beating-over-the-head hammering in of the message compared to today's modern IngSocJus comic. Anybody with a brain can see that X-Men is clearly a metaphor for either racial equality struggles or gay rights (could look at it either way or both ways), but they don't beat viewers over the head with it because the message remains in-universe and relevant to the in-universe concerns, and is capable of making people THINK about the actual thing while still being able to go into escapist land and enjoy the comic. THIS is how to make a "political" comic without blowing it or being overly (or overtly) preachy. Modern IngSogJus comic pros forgot about the nuance and metaphor and just come across like an annoying unhinged street preacher that follows people around for a few blocks.

Y'know...this is a really excellent point. I find that Bush Sucking Liberty piece offensively stupid (and stupidly offensive!) and SuperObama laughably naive and both a little scary in their extremism, and I remember being irritated by both of them when they were done for that reason, which is probably why I got bitchy about it...but yes. Ross would have to go a country mile to be even a fraction as bad as Waid is. Something worth keeping in mind, especially when it's your own ox being gored.
