Eh give Germany another 20 years they'll invade Belgium again anyway. Old habits die hard.
We try, but we keep losing our way and getting into the Netherlands, and there our invasion always ends very merrily at the first coffeeshop...

Yeah I don't agree with everything that he's saying, but ISIS is not a threat that we can't destroy. It's not even a threat that would require a thousand boots on the ground, if only we had the mettle to go through with it.

Honestly if we know certain roads are only used by ISIS fighters I'm 100% behind laying land mines and shit. Yeah we shouldn't blanket mines all over the place, but this is a valid tactic against military targets.

Anyway the point is that this could easily be done. A team of 20 US Special Forces could decimate hundreds of ISIS fighters in a couple of hours, then go on to play a round of golf later that afternoon. These guys are fucking amateurs who are only able to do what they are doing because they don't have any real opposition.

The Kurds asked for months just to get a bit of air support so they could retake Sinjar. Apparently we couldn't afford to bomb more than 7 targets a day. The one time we said yes, they retook the whole city in 24 hours. They say they could do that for all of Kurdistan.

This should be a cakewalk, it's not, and it's infuriating.

It's high past time we put boots on the ground. The moral cowardice and abject cynicism of the Obama Administration's "doctrine of peace" has been an abject failure that has actively promoted genocide, slavery, and murder in the Middle East while giving us no extra security whatsoever.

Murder these fuckers where they stand, and colonially irrigate all Islamist supporting nations that we pretend are our allies. It doesn't matter if it's easy or hard. This shit is every bit as unacceptable as the Third Reich.

This guy straight up advocates placing land mines on highways and some other fun things that range between highly controversial and outright war crimes.
He also says that his plan can destroy ISIS's narrative in 72 hours.

I think he's optimistic (wish I could give that rating to people in real life) about his timetable and that some elements of his plan would have to be toned down or removed, but this is another viable option.
Considering that ISIS are war criminals they don't have protection from war crimes themselves. It is a little optimistic to expect that he will be able to do this but if we perform policies similar to the ones used against Japan and Germany we may be able to stop them (although potentially climate change has rendered syria uninhabitable so it may not be quite as easy). We need to fight against Saudi Arabia too and considering that oil is less important now they have less power against us

We just (rightfully, and it took so long) declared that what they are doing to the Yazidis and Christians is a genocide, so we're getting closer.

The cynic in me thinks that Obama's not doing shit because he doesn't want to hurt Hillary's chances. The realist in me thinks its because he doesn't really give a fuck.

Agreed. Fun fact, ISIS wants to start a holy war, because they think that if they do not till the end of the year or so, they will not get into heaven.
So an ISIS attack is pretty much an attempt to start shit with the world, instead of retaliation, because they want rapture.
It's a shame when people can't see how petty their lives really are.

What the fuck. What the FUCK. How am I learning about this from Kiwi fucking Farms? God, I feel so horrible for the victims and their families. They were just completely normal, innocent people trying to live their lives and some terrorist assholes decided to slaughter them to prove some point that only makes sense to them.

How is that relevant to this situation though? ISIS didn't bomb Brussels in retaliation for a U.S airstrike, they did it because they're a death cult that wants to kill western civilians.

For real, people really need to read up on the ideology of ISIS. All non-Muslims (and Muslims who don't follow their brand of Islam, such as Shias, Sufis, and Muslims who condemn their actions) only exist to be conquered, converted, exploited, and/or murdered. They don't see non-Muslims (and moderate Muslims) as human beings. For fuck's sake, all you have to do is look at what they're doing to the religious minorities in their territory; they've been waging fucking genocide against Yazidis, Christians, and other minorities for years now. That has nothing to do with Western intervention; they just want to exterminate these groups because they're not Muslim and are therefore not human.

We can blame a lot of what's going on in the Middle East on Western screwups, but I think people neglect the ideological reasons far too often. ISIS, Boko Haram, and other Islamist terrorist groups are following a hate-filled, supremacist ideology akin to Nazism.

So what? Great. We "destroyed" al-Qaeda too.

So next there's some other name.

And one after that, and one after that, and one after that.

Great business if you're a military contractor and can pay the government both for building the bombs you need to destroy the latest "threat" and to maintain the conditions necessary to keep spawning new threats.

It is a crass thing to say but these attacks are pretty inept.

Bombs at a major airport and major metro stations and they only kill 25 people and wound 30.

These rag-heads are terrible.

This is literally marine copypasta-tier dude.

The professionally trained and equipped Syrian army, along with the help of Iran and Russia, along with who knows how many independent militias, have been unable to stop the spread of IS.

Just because we're not in position to stop the endemic problems that are at the core of Islam and require it to have a massive reformation doesn't mean the West should just lay down and do nothing when we're attacked, or when genocide is being committed.

Let's destroy ISIS like we destroy Al Qaeda, and let's destroy the next one after that and the one after that, ad vitam aeternaem until they either run out of men to blow themselves up at us, or they go 'Wait, maybe we should rethink that whole thing' and reform the fuck out.

When will this cavalcade of Shit end?

My condolences go out to all those involved and there families.

I wouldn't call Syrian and Iranian soldiers trained, definitely not professionally, when compared to the elite of the elite of US Armed Forces. As far as the Russians, they did not participate in missions they were basically there as operational support.

The Iraqi, Iranian and Syrian army are sad, pitiful jokes that only know how to keep their own populations under control, not actually fight real threats.

I'd like to pose a couple of questions for those who advocate for a sizable NATO/Western ground offensive into Syria:

What countries will take part?
What troops will be used and what current deployments will end due to the transfer?
Will a UN security council resolution be acquired or will Daesh be granted the status of a legit state or will we just shit on 400 years of international law? (If you answer C, you aren't allowed to complain if Russia invades one of its neighbors.)
How will it be ensured that the forces of Assad or Russia will not be drawn into the fighting, sparking a wider war?
What forces will be needed for the occupation?
How many years will the occupation take?
Who will pay for the occupation and explain all the coffins coming back home?
What will be set up in Syria instead of Daesh? Because Iraq and Afghanistan have showed the current style of democracy building is shit. Or are we just going to hand the place over to a tyrant known for industrial scale torture and confirmed use of chemical weapons against civilians? 'Cause that would make the whole Iraq thing look funny...

I fully agree that it Daesh should be eliminated in some manner. But going to war is expensive as fuck and if you don't have an ironclad plan from the first shot to the last soldier leaving the theater, you are on route to getting fucked by a camel.

Also worth noting that one of the reasons ISIS was able to mobilize and arm themselves so quickly was because the "elite" Iraqi and Syrian forces fled like the French on steroids leaving behind massive weapon caches for them to acquire.

They just arrested 3 other terrorists in Belgium near Rosenheim who were supposedly on their way to perpetrate another attack.

@Sc4rface I don't think anyone in this thread has advocate any kind of sizable Western/NATO ground offensive so far.
