According to the CDC the Marburg virus (which is similar to Ebola) was first found out when some labs in Frankfurt and Serbia had some monkeys from Deepest Darkest Africa imported, and according to Wikipedia
Transfer can happen by exposure to one species fruit bats and between people with body fluids to mucous membranes (e.g. sex) and broken skin.

So someone might have caused this outbreak by fucking a monkey, or by eating another fucking fruit bat like what started Ebola. And it has a kill rate of around 88%

I remember reading a book about this years ago. The first Westerner to catch it was some oil driller Frenchman who touched bat shit in a cave.

The solution is to ban African immigration. Simple.

Uganda should be fine then, so long as they heed the sage advice of their wise holy man to not "eat da poo poo"

First off, we need to get the important stuff out of the way before we focus on dealing with the infections spread. The name "Marburg Virus" is incredibly racist and denigrates an innocent German town. Calling it that implies that Germany is somehow responsible for this. It must be renamed to something innocuous.

The WHO must convene a committee to this task post haste. Nothing can be done until this injustice is fixed.

Ghana announced the country’s first outbreak of Marburg virus disease after a World Health Organization laboratory confirmed earlier test results.

The Institut Pasteur in Dakar, Senegal, received samples from two unrelated deceased patients, the WHO said in an emailed statement. Both showed symptoms including diarrhea, fever, nausea and vomiting and sought treatment at the same hospital within days of each other. The WHO is supporting a joint national investigative team in Ghana’s Ashanti region and alerting neighboring high-risk countries.

“Health authorities have responded swiftly, getting a head start,” Matshidiso Moeti, the WHO’s director for Africa, said in a statement. “Without immediate and decisive action, Marburg can easily get out of hand.”


Marburg is a highly infectious viral hemorrhagic fever in the same family as Ebola. It has only rarely been detected in West Africa.


Case fatality rates have varied from 24% to 88% in past outbreaks, depending on virus strain and the quality of case management, the WHO said. Although there are no vaccines or antiviral treatments approved to treat the virus, supportive care of specific symptoms improves survival.
