What's going on with consoles? Are consolebroskigamerinos secretly based?

No but really, why aren't they buying Marathon?

1. They've had enough of Ximmers in D2 already

2. They were Ximmers themselves, but it was a gateway drug and now they've switched to PC where the proper cheats are

3. They are saving their money for Fairgame$

4. They flipped a coin between Marathon and Daley Thompson's Decathlon, fate wasn't on Bungie's side

5. Not enough gender options, homosexual robot maids or pride skins yet (possible future buy)

6. They're still mad about Xol and Quria

7. They're still lost in D2 menus and can't get out

8. They're iron-willed chads, absolute basedbros and HIGH CHUDS who only accept quality of the highest order, unlike those stinky Steamers

9. They are poor LOL NO GAEMS AND NO MONEY EITHER LOLOL IMAGINE BEING POOR

I think the vast majority of console normies are buying the new COD, NBA 2K, Madden and don't give a fuck about anything else.

It didn't occur to me until recently that paid live service games like Marathon still require a PS or Xbox membership to access the online features... Free games don't. Somehow console plebian gamers don't question this...

Coping, Arc has probably 8x the sales on console compared to Marathon, niche genre doesn't matter.
It's really not coping though. Arc Raiders was lightning in a bottle that succeeded because it had very well received beta tests on console and PC, as well as the fact that every streamer was glazing the shit out of the game.

Marathon only really had the hardcore shooter streamers and destiny streamers talking about it, and even then most people ignored them when they would say the game was good because again, Bungies reputation is that terrible.

Burnt Peanut, the industry plant, couldn't even sell the game. But he was able to get people to play Arc Raiders pretty easily.

Arc Raiders is a good game but it got popular because every single normie on the planet was pushing it and people saw that it was a good game so the cycle continued.

Marathon is a mediocre game by a shitty studio that immediately had to deal with its studios dogshit reputation as well as the early look for the game being terrible.

i honestly doubt its that high, especially coming from paul tassi, a faggot who is almost as bad when it comes to shilling for woke games as that racist jew rat schrier.
You'd think he wouldn't suggest this even if there was a gun held to the back of his head. Dude's lips are glued to Bungie's loose asshole. Did I miss something? Did the monthly check bounce?

Arc raiders is an ok game, just ok, that's coming from someone who's reset once and has every BP I could want. It got hard carried by marketing and because it's unique matchmaking accounting for player hostility. That matchmaker is the only reason it's still alive and whoever made it deserves a raise. All that said it shipped as a solid 7.5 that was fun and didn't ask for more than what it was offering.

>It's qualityslop
>You only like it because it's good

Different take. Long time fans of Bungie where the only ones who dodged marathon due to their prior reputation. If you're not a ex/destiny fan then you don't hear to much about Bungie's drama anymore. The average gamer doesn't think that much about reputation before making a purchase anyways. Marathon in a vacuum just doesn't present well. It's art style, game play, and world building are all extremely niche and needlessly abrasive for a new entry title trying to reach a new audience, notice I didn't say "broad audience". Every design decision was seemingly made to be as polarizing as possible. I don't even think it's a bad game, I've played it. But who the fuck was this for?
>Style
->plastic punk candy core dystopia/color vomit
>Gameplay
->hardcore PvPvE with forced wipes and no trading
>World building
->mixed media: video, logs, ARGs and collectables
This was never going to sell. It's designed specifically not to. So I can't imagine what internal expatiations even were.

Looks like we have our first real data. If true, as rumored before it seems to have done horrendously on consoles.

The idea it sold poorly on consoles would line up. While it managed the top ten on weekly users on steam, it only barely cracked top 20 on PlayStation and top 25 on Ecksbacks.
Bringing this back from earlier.

It kinda surprises me, because my gut feeling about Bungo is that most of their fans would be console first, maybe even only - Halo fans should be on XBox, destiny fans on PS. Is this a case where the support is more from outside newcomers than the existing fanbase? Or have players with the option picked PC whenever they could?

this is exactly what I just put across and you say the words back to me in a different form, Arc Raiders is a good game, Marathon is a sweaty PVP centric game with the trappings of an extraction shooter, its not that its a bad or middling game, its that its core targeted demographic is fucking tiny, they SET out to make this game get this audience, whereas Arc set out to get ya know, basically anyone who likes 3rd person shooters.

so yes, its coping, Arc said "we will make a good game targeting a broad demo" and Bungie didn't.

Speaking purely anecdotally, the only people left on console at this point are the niggers and spics buying their yearly nigger ball games.
Makes sense. Are CoD and Battlefield still big sellers anymore? Or has the industry just thrown in the towel and started focusing on sportsball annuals?

I know CoD dropped the ball big time w/ all its AI art

Battlefield 6 lost 90% of their players within a few months.

But niggers are still out here buying their goyslop niggerball games

Of course it's Morgan Park.

Napkin math says that their estimate on gross revenue means one third of players bought the deluxe edition and two thirds bought normal ((400k * $60) + (800k * $40) = $24m + $32m = $56m). Dunno how accurate that is, but I suppose it would check out, especially since the base game is cheaper than a typical AAA game, so more people might be willing to spring for the deluxe.

Still, that's definitely not the numbers they were hoping for, I'm sure. Note that that's only gross revenue, not net. When you factor in the different platforms taking their cut, that number is already getting slashed by a significant amount. Then consider the gigantic budget and years of development, and that's a hole they're never crawling out of. I don't think microtransactions are going to salvage this shitshow; ain't nobody gonna want to play virtual dressup with these ugly character and weapon models.

And 380k daily players would be nothing to sneeze at if it were a smaller title, but certainly not for this. A reminder that Destiny 2 at launch had over three million players checking it out every day; yeah, the numbers tumbled pretty quickly because that game too was a shitshow, but for most of the game's history, it's had at least a million people signing in day to day. They needed this to be a similar launch to be successful given how much they invested into it, and the results show they failed pretty damn bad.
