The interesting thing about this is whether it's actually defamatory to call someone an MRA.

If an MRA files a defamation lawsuit about that, aren't they basically saying that being an MRA is such a completely retarded, idiotic thing to be that calling you an MRA is automatically defamatory, because only a blithering moron would be one?

Not really. Defamation is untrue statements causing actual damages, as far as I know. There's a wide range of things you could say about somebody that could conceivably cause damages to them, without necessarily being bad things. For example, if I successfully spread a rumour that RooshV was a liberal feminist to the point that it damaged his book sales I'm pretty sure that would be defamation.
 
Defamation is the publication of a false statement that causes you to be harmed in some way...it is important to bear in mind that lawsuits like these move more slowly than most people would like.

The long and short of it is that even if Gellman somehow manages to prove that he was tangibly harmed (emotional damages are child's play and he'll get laughed at), by the time this mess makes it within spitting distance of an attorney, he'll most likely have gotten bored. Also, most defamation/libel suits end in NDAs, which he would know if he did his research. Taking this to court is the best way to shoot himself in the foot. Our friend would do well to Google the Streisand effect.

Plus he at minimum worked on an MRA movie last I checked, even if we play nice and don't attribute him to the gay bath house. As I see it, it isn't defamation or libel because of that.

i only chanced upon this whole clusterfuck a few days ago out of boredom, mild curiosity, and an interest in watching autistic people rant. (cool site, btw.)

charles gellman seems to have glommed onto martin shkreli when martin started doing group chats on either spreecast or blab nightly, a couple months ago. the chats are a shitshow ranging from finance talk, to martin publicly vetting potential girlfriends, to free form roasting battles, and they usually get 150-300 viewers. charles gellman is/was but a bit player in the cringefest that is martin's chat, he's but one personality among many vying for martin's attention and spot on the blab each night.

after the chats would die down, i would notice that jojo (charles) would break off and start his own chat and usually get 10-20 viewers. i would continue to watch the madness, but noted after a day or so that there was something "wrong" with this guy, there was clearly an agenda, and the guy was as an act, a salesman, he was not using his real personality, but a formula. once one of his underlings let the site name slip, it all fell into place, a few of the people in his chat weren't random fools somehow agreeing with this clown night after night, they were loyal subjects!

nice SEO work guys, you guys made outing charles to hundreds of folks as simple as dropping a link, great thread (yes, i read the entire thing before i posted.)

For a guy who is trying really hard to not tie his name to this shithole of a website, Charles Gellman is pretty fucking terrible at it. It's almost like he does actually own this gay bathhouse and only cares now because his name and address are now known to be tied with this batch of mental disorders.
