Eh I'd rather she throw it away like Harry did in canon. Make it a show that she no longer has this ambition for power.
No no. Shes a slytherin. Ambition for power is fundamental to who she is. She absolutely would keep it. But for different reasons at the end then why Voldemort wanted it. In my mind, it would be because she wants to protect the happiness she has found with an insufferably naive man who seems determined to make as many dangerous enemies as possible.

There can be that cliffhanger at the end, will the "curse" on the elder wand doom her future happiness? Maybe her conniving nature is so good the world does believe the elder wand is gone and only Malfoy knows the truth. That it's still right there in her robes waiting for anyone foolish enough to attack her home, husband and children.

A story for another time.

Because then the gooner chuds wouldn’t have their racist blonde waifu, which is what this is really about despite what people are claiming.
>Malding about Malfoid
>while also admitting to preferring Hermione X Malfoy over it
>So not only does he scoff at the idea of the male protagonist having a satisfying love interest, he also wants to cuck Ron while he's at it

You know, when you single out all male characters, and all the narrative choices you argue in favor of happen to revolve around not letting men have nice things, you don't exactly give their irl counterparts much of a reason to sympathise with you. If the male protagonist having a satisfying love interest built into the story makes her a 'chud waifu', you've already redefined things so much, that 'chud' now holds a positive connotation. Just because you severely dislike men for some reason, doesn't mean other people are obligated to share your sentiment.

A part that hasn’t translated well, since the entire Malfoid meme is based on a single image activating the almonds of whomever sees it, is the fact Malfoid and Harry’s relationship would be built over the course of seven books. It wouldn’t be the anime trope of her being antagonistic with the audience given the dramatic irony of knowing her true feelings when other characters don’t, but she would probably be just outright hostile until the after the third book, with things cooling off until the sixth book (the events of which bring Harry and Malloy to some kind of understanding, even if they never actually end up liking each other) before just making her a part of the team for the last book. Your brain picks up on all of this, even if you don’t; but none of this will happen so we have to make due by shoehorning tangentially related anime tropes to fulfill the yearning.

The common arc the community seems to have settled on is the two of them become somewhat conscious of their feelings during the Yule Ball in book 4, and then things get angsty in books 5 & 6, with at least some kind of mutual understanding, if not an explicitly romantic relationship, established in Book 7. Some save the actual getting together for epilogue content.

Personal favorite trope in this retelling of mine is how Snape spends most of Books 1-4 just miserable as his best potions student whines about Pottah even more than he does (there's a great snippet going around where she's trying to convince him Harry's somehow hexed her, and it's obvious he recognizes she's got a crush).

????

learn to read dude literally the next 3 sentences are saying why Dramione is dumb because it kills Hermione's agency and makes her put aside all of her beliefs to obsess over the loser who called her slurs for 7 years. i don't like Harry Potter getting weighed down with romantasy fanfic because the characters are used to tell really neat and interesting coming of age concepts that a diverse set of children could relate to (and no i don't mean scary diversity like stories about brown children. i mean diversity of upbringing and life situations): Neville is a soft spoken individual who always wants to do best and stand up for what is right. He's my favorite character because I find this to be an important lesson to teach children. Hermione is a girl boss but you don't have to be a girl to resonate with seeking understanding and knowledge and striving to be your best (unless you're a weirdo who requires a character to have a penis to identify with them). Both Harry and Neville can be characters children who are orphaned or separated from parents can identify with, and they teach the value of true friendships. On the flipside Malfoy is a character who experiences neglect and- even though he has all a child could want- lacks what a child needs. Ron (who I never said didn't deserve Hermione, I think the two of them make far more sense for a romantic couple than most of the cast, again learn to read) represents under privileged kids who have to deal with hand-me-downs and dealing with currying attention from parents.

You damage all of these archetypes by making it a romantasy because romance would require pulling away from all these characters to focus on the romance. You lose *all* this stuff that in a *children's* book is essential to young growing minds. Malfoid isn't a satisfying romance because it requires the story revolving around it rather than the complete picture Rowling paints of Harry's growth.

Something I do find annoying about the Malfoid stuff is just how much AI is being used in service to it. (Although I don't have anything against AI personally). I'm fine with AI overall and find anti-AI screeching to be annoying, often hysterical and mildly overblown, but I do personally put more value on human-written/drawn stuff.

I've been reading through the BrokenPokemon's Harry Potter and the Girl Who -- series and kept noticing various little literary errors. These aren't the spelling or grammar errors you'd catch in any work, this was consistent little literary quirks like,
He pointed, with great pride, at a large red button on the dashboard with a plated, embossed label in silver letters that read Invisibility Booster.
and
Harry put his head out of the window. Traffic was grinding along the main road at the end, but the side street was empty.

‘Alright, we’re clear,’ he said.

Ron pressed a small silver button on the dashboard.
just a few lines later. In addition to some...strange lines like
‘You’re just jealous,’ piped up Colin, the whole of whom was about as thick as one of Crabbe’s necks.
I said as much when someone else accused it of being AI for a worse reason (namely that there's a lot of emdashes, when Rowling actually has a lot of them in her original fiction.) and was mostly polite about it, as the story was overall pretty good and kept to the 'tone' of the original HP while maintaining its own differences. The author then blocked me, which didn't settle my bad feeling about its AI use at all. I know everyone is in a rush to get all of the books out before other people do, but come on, lol.

As an addendum, even after I pointed it out, I don't think he tweaked it to remove them despite the changes likely only needing a minute or two. Sigh.

Trannies really hate AI so make more Malfoid with AI.
It's at the very least sloppy imo. Read over it yourself once to make sure it looks right or discerning readers like me can see Crabbe suddenly became a hydra. This guy's trying to upload like 2 chapters a day, he could easily slow it down to one chapter a week to reread and check over it and nobody would be complaining.

My nigga how do you write a relatable coming of age story without romance? What do you think happens when you come of age??

Most of my Harry Potter knowledge comes from Brad Neely (I saw "Wizard People, Dear Readers" twice) and even I can see that Malfoid would have made for a better story. A much stronger ending anyway, the elder wand retcon and the curse returning to voldemort reads like a really tidy end.

I was going thru Xitter and I saw art where they gave Malfoid huge tits, okay no biggie, except they are the so badly drawn and overly huge (think "Eiken" the anime) that it actually looks like Troon Malfoid with botched implants from Thailand and now my perception is ruined.

Starship Troopers (kinda)
The Giver
Neither of these are coming of age. The former makes it clear that Johnny becomes who he is through the machinations of a military that is both perfectly egalitarian and perfectly responsible, which is further reinforced when his dad enlists, and the latter never actually ends up narratively deep enough to have any real message.

I never read Hatchet.
