Man, this thread has me remember some nicer times.
I had an ex-gf like 14 years ago that was super fan of Harry Potter, she was cute. And she said to me that "i looked like Harry Potter" and told me to do some cosplay to her, which obliged. It's she where with me today, it would be just like the art the people are doing.
So, in a way this unlock me a really cute memory for me. Also, I'm old as fuck holy shit.
The trans-seething part of this is underappreciated.
They should like this because it is genderbend, but cannot because of JK Rowling. Literally every E. Asian artist is drawing this character and they just have to sit there and be mad.
Because every artist is drawing this they cannot single out and hate on one artist until they stop and their few attempts have failed because of the sheer number of artists drawing it. They also like Asian artists so they cannot just unfollow all of them. The sheer volume of it and overwhelming support also results in western artists ignoring trans-seething and just drawing the character.
It is a spiritual cuck chair of sorts. All of their power and influence evaporated by the light.
It's a hetero genderbend and the overwhelming momentum behind it is aimed at a hard-won, genuine, supportive, and exclusive relationship that keeps it's sexual life in private except for a house full of their own biological children. There's no open perversion, there's nothing socially subversive, there's no violation of norms except for their own crypto-normative beliefs about dehumanizing anyone vaguely chudly and definitely never giving them the validation of meeting them in the middle. It is fictional kryptonite for degenerate neo-Gramscian faggots who don't hold by anything unless it defaces social currency.
Were the evangelicals also assmad over the existence of halloween? A fun book series for children with all sorts of wonder and whimsy at a magical school doesn't seem too far detached from spooky month in general and people love spooky month. Like, you see these types of anime girl memes all the time, and every single time it’s a tsundere or a dommy mommy or something similar wherein the anime female is the one in charge and the male self-insert is just passively along for the ride.
It speaks to this odd dichotomy within Zoomers where they are deeply gooned out and obsessed with sex, and yet lack the internal confidence to view themselves as the dominant even in their own sexual fantasies. Therefore, the safest way to be horny is to be horny in a situation where you have little initiative, hence the yearly tsundere flavored trend.

I've watched as the 'safe horny' bullshit extend well past (and turn against) animu for years. Large-scale demonization of traits considered conventionally attractive until about 2012-16 along with the 'male gaze' and promotion of their inverses, so that besides stuff like 'dommy muscle mommy' you also end up with promotion of femboys, increasingly bizarre fetishes from foot fetishism to NTR/cuckshit to plain faggotry in general, Healthy At Any Size and hamplanet models advertising for Nike or other sports brands, and so on. Avenues for any expression of healthy, normal sexuality & actually good-looking characters (whether drawn in anime or realistic styles, or even real actors) has been clamped down on for many a zoomer's formative years with increasing aggression, and an equally conscious & aggressive effort made to force those too soy to rebel or tune out to divert their desires into shit like this:
At this point tsunderes have been old hat for decades & the promoters of 'safe horny' tend to disdain anime for a combination of reasons (it's Japanese, it's inherently pedophilic, it's gay, it's for kids and still liking it at all means you suffer from arrested development, etc.) but, above all, because anime girls are still generally drawn to be cute/beautiful and ultimately interested in the male protagonist. Not many anime-style artists set out to draw dysgenic androgynous brown lardasses with septum piercings & multicolored hair who don't need no man (but you should still love & worship the ground she walks on anyway) and those dumb enough to do so can't reasonably expect much in the way of popularity and $$$. It's not limited to anime or tsunderes, Anita Sarkeesian was making painfully long videos seething about video game characters like Bayonetta or the dancers in Hitman more than a decade ago, and that exact sort of ugly un-feminine girlboss is ubiquitous in other media industries like vidya & movies/TV to the point where endless memes have been made of them for years.
As for Malfoid specifically, I think part of the trend's popularity is as a rebellion against all of the above. It's not even to do with her being a tsundere and having to make the first move necessarily (Harry usually has to do that in the art I've been seeing/posting anyway because, in true tsundere fashion, Malfoid is characterized as being too shy/proud to make the first move for real). She's a conventionally attractive chick with pale blonde hair, green/gray eyes and pale skin who starts out on the evil side but isn't as evil as she tries to seem nor has to be to actually stick with them, whose hidden heart of gold the hero eventually reaches, and who's usually depicted as ending up in a happy heterosexual relationship with Harry where they have almost as many kids as Sam & Rosie Gamgee.
None of that would have been anything out of the ordinary 15-20 years ago. But it is absolutely out of the ordinary now, where it's already got no shortage of bashers for being 'cisheteronormative' and 'white supremacist' and 'supporting trans genocide', and stands out in dire contrast to all the awful trends of yesteryear where Malfoid-type characters wouldn't have been allowed to appear at all, except perhaps as villains with no redeeming virtue to be despised & humiliated without mercy (certainly not to be loved). As with many other traditions demonized & abandoned in the last decade & a half or so, turns out there's very good reason Malfoid's character archetype was and still is popular. The fact that the artist who started this trend specified that they drew Malfoid as a true & honest woman from birth, not a tranny; that the objective was to 'make guys yearn' (appealing directly to the long-demonized male gaze); and that the universe she hails from is one hated by the people pushing the negative trends above for being the work of Queen TERF, is the cherry on the cake.
