It's a meme, it's not that deep. Some people thought it was funny/interesting to make a gender-bent Malfoy. Some artist got a recommendation to make their Malfoid trans and pretty bluntly told the tranny to shove it. The dangerhairs, trannies, and pruny fingered AO3 dwellers hate it. Their "culture" of genderswapping fanfiction is being "appropriated" and they don't like it. Most of the people propogating it enjoy the seething it generates.
Edit: there's also the general fight over Harry Potter and JK Rowling being part of the TTD squads or whatever.
