HEY GUUUUUUYTHS

Something that came up in the Forever Kailyn thread: Beauty subscription boxes! Natually kailyn didn't bother to explain what they were because...:alog: yeah. They're so fun! Basically what you do is go to a website and take a quiz to show what kind of products you like and use. Then once you sign up (most of them are around ten dollars a month) you get a surprise compilation of make up samples or small products like lipsticks. The neat thing is that the products are usually very high and fancy, so it' nice to get them at a discount. Most of them carry men's products too.

I use Ipsy myself. http://www.ipsy.com/home

but I also like https://beautyarmy.com/ and https://www.birchbox.com/

I think beauty boxes are a good thing for people who are just getting into make up and don't have a lot of experience with brands that they like.

This... actually sounds rather nice. Do you know of any that you would suggest for someone who prefers the more "natural" look?

I'm going to reveal an incredibly homo secret about myself and say that I use Nivea cream on my face because I like how it smells and how smooth it makes my skin. Does that count?

I don't see why it wouldn't. :)

moisturizers and daycreams dabes. I regularly exfoliate and use a really neat daily moisturizer by a company named Neutrogena, then I also have a daycream by nivea I think, so my skin is always super soft. It's the best.

Well, all of them have a little quiz where you talk about your look!! My ipsy always sends me products for a natural look, and beautyarmy seems to have a lot of brands like Burts Bees and Bare Minerals.

I've heard of those subscription boxes, I've been looking for one for jewelry that's decent since I need things a little more grown up now that I'm in my 20s. I got rid of a lot of my middle school stuff and I'm slowly restocking. Also, clip-on earrings... my ears just don't react well to getting pierced at all.

Only thing is that turned me off from make up is that I have very sensitive skin and I have no idea really where to begin. The only make up I put on is maybe some mascara and lipstick/gloss and a dab of perfume, my favorite brand being Phoenix Alchemy Labs. It would have to be something that's comfortable or has a good reputation of being friendly to those with sensory-issues. Any recommendations for boxes for jewlery and make up for sensitive skin?

I'm expecting my first beauty box in the mail soon this week. It's Goodebox, a $18 monthly subscription box that sends out sample of beauty products that are ecofriendly. Like other beauty boxes I first fill out a survey (which I can edit at any time) about my preferences and concerns. I chose Goodebox because I am a snob about my beauty products being purely ecofriendly.

Here's a website that lists all the known subscription boxes, including those for food, fashion/accessories, and men!

I make jewelry

This is the first necklace I ever made so it has sentimental value.

Not really "girly" but I made these little health and mana pots, they got put on necklaces and are at a local store now.
I'll post anything else I make here. If you have an idea you can PM me, but I am super amateur at this still.

WANT

but prob. couldn't pull off
Aren't you much thinner and leggier than that person?

Heavy creams like Nivea are pretty much the same as those $500 'designer' creams. It's just emulsified oil, apparently the 'active' ingredients in Creme De La Mer are petroleum jelly and sorbolene!!

I've never seen one for sensitive skin. :( http://www.fortunecookiesoap.com/ do a box, which might be suitable? but i'm not 100% sure. They seem to be what Lush pretend to be.

I'm subscribed to a couple of Australian boxes and I buy a Memebox each month (Koreaboo skincare) and yes I do have two whole drawers full of skincare stuff and over 100 bottles of nail polish.

I know it's not super fashion-y with the color scheme it's got going and stuff, but I would so wear the outfit on the left, lol. It looks so comfy and soft <3

The hoodie on the left is precious, it looks buttery soft :D I really value comfort in my clothing!

I like the 2nd one especially. It looks cute and cozy, but still kinda elegant, probably because of the colors. Would wear.

Hei guiz it's time for me to channel my inner ForeverKailyn and photograph every single cosmetic item I receive to share with the apathetic masses of the internet. I received my first ever Goodebox in the mail today. This is what it looks like (the soda can is for size reference):

IMGP0395.JPG

Then I opened it up.

IMGP0396.JPG

And then I opened it up some more so I could see the items' information card.

IMGP0397.JPG

And now I could see the items inside.

IMGP0399.JPG

I got some bronzer even though I don't wear any makeup. It's in the shade golden since I have a yellow undertone to my skin. I'm willing to send this sample to anyone interested since it's likely to collect dust in my vicinity. I can't give it to my sister since she doesn't wear makeup anymore and she's in Inner Mongolia right now anyway.

IMGP0402.JPG

I also got two ecofriendly tampon-type things that I'm assuming are similar to a Diva Cup. My period just ended and I dislike tampons so I'm also willing to send this to someone too. Perhaps even the same person who wants the bronzer.

IMGP0405.JPG

These two things I'm keeping. I do have frizzy hair and I do wear nail polish. We'll see how they work.

IMGP0406.JPG

I also got a body spray sample and a body wash sample. They were difficult to photograph since they are clear bottles. I'm keeping those too since they smell nice. I hope future Goodeboxes will give me stuff that I won't feel like giving away to people. Perhaps I need to edit my profile...

I can't tell how big the last three things are without the Coke Zero for scale. HALP.

More clothes!

I wouldn't wear the weird mini-hat, but other than that, I like it a lot

I'm not sure why I read this thread.
