Found him after looking up stuff on Xenogears a day or two back. His videos remind me a bit of Tehsnakerer's, which is always a nice thing, real good for background noise.

I like his videos so far and enjoyed them thoroughly. He actually puts a lot of effort into his work and so far hasn't done anything too batshit. He is a leaf though and none can resist the siren call of stupid political takes forever.

Yeah he's really good. The exact balance between being descriptive and autistic. Also actual functioning output schedule.

Just finished the last Ultima reviews. It really amazes me how much of the old Spoony's reviews I remembered, and how the difference in video game youtube content went from 20-30 minute tops vids (with plenty of skits) to 3 hour behemoths.

Majuular is fucking awesome and almost inspired me to make my own longform video because of how cozy his are and I really like his attitude toward things. He doesn't make the easy anti-capitalist or commie jokes like a certain other *coughdungeonchillcough* youtuber does and yet still manages to be clever, informative, and overall entertaining.

Sorry to really ballwash this guy, but he's probably one of my favorite creators on the platform.
Does Dungeon Chill make pozzed comments? Maybe I'm retarded because I never really saw any.

Had no idea that Tek War had made that serious of an attempt at being a television series on top of it all. Majuular really put a lot of effort into this one with the editing of the bull "fight" being pretty comical.

Stumbled on this guy by sheer accident a couple of months back, and I've been enjoying his output so far. Hell, his Dark Cloud/Chronicle video got me to dig up an emulator and go back to those games for a bit, since I never beat the second of the two.
He's a charming sperg and seems delightfully easygoing by and large. Also, I really like his taste in music choices - hearing the first world map theme from Terranigma is what flipped me from "okay, you're not bad" to "hold on, you've got my attention now".

“The nice thing about Paladins is that everybody knows what they are."

Great review. One of the sadder parts about gaming is how everything being homogenized. Experimental game development is non-existent nowadays because most things were tried out and found not as good as expected, but this makes modern games become interchangeable.

I fucking love Majuular. He's just the right mix of information and funny, if that makes sense. Also helps that I used to play the shit out of the ultima games in my wee days. Can't wait till he tackles Pagan, which for some reason ends up being my fav Ultima game.

Also looking forward to Pagan because most people I've seen discussing it give it a shallow Spoony level "It sucks because of the platforming" and move on. Not necessarily wrong but won't get into the weeds of its creation or facets of it. Martian Dreams truly seemed dull but at least hearing parts of it made for a decent watch.

Pagan had a lot of really cool ideas going around - darker grittier setting, a world where the Avatar is actually more of a villain (although they kinda did that in V), single character to build, more involved combat and platforming, etc.

The problem is that it was only like 1/4th finished and what we got was both unfun and nonsensical.

A true kusoge tragedy.

That's what I am curious about most. Majuular seems to do a good job researching this so I'm curious what he might get into beyond the obvious aspect of EA doing it. Even the idea of the Avatar being the Titan of Aether (ether? Whichever) could've been interesting for a conflict between two super powerful beings with 9.

Then.. you know. It didn't fucking happen at all.

Tbf, Spoony put a lot of other complaints, but the platforming made the game genuinely unplayable. Hope he'll make another version of 1812 overture.

I love videos like his when I can sorta enjoy a long and a complicated RPG that I don't have the time for.

Pagan is one I think he actually put effort into. I never realized until watching Majuular how much Spoony just breezed past a lot of Ultima's aspects, 6 especially. Though I do remember him saying he just never enjoyed 6.

Tried it out myself and the tiny play window bugged the shit out of me.
