The rare cycle isn't that impressive. They are lands of a certain color with an activated ability. They come in untapped if you control one of the other colors in the wedge. They don't have a basic type.
*looks for them*

Oh well...Limited fixing in this set is gonna be painful isn't it?

White and Black ones are kinda Junk.
Red is okay
Blue and Green are probably playable, Castle Vantress used to see play in Modern..and Surveil has proven to be stronger than Scry.

I've already been hearing on the grapevine that pre-orders for Final Fantasy have been going out and the prices are huge.

600 dollars for collector boxes and around 140 for Commander decks.

The biggest problem I have with the blue land is I feel like blue/white control would want it as backup for a counter spells, but it's in the wrong wedge.

Being able to straight say "LOL NO" in Control Mirrors can be relevant, going "You have one mana up? Okay I will make my negate uncounterable...Fuck your Mystic Dispute"

edit : And control decks can live with a land entering tapped.

How do you guys feel about Omens?
I can't decide if they are slightly worse adventures or just a direct side grade. They shuffle back so you can use the omen side multiple times if redrawn, but you lose the fact that you don't really go down a card in hand like adventures.

They are MUCH worse than adventures.

However that is probably a good thing, Adventures are probably too strong unless one side is really overcosted.

I don't really like the new land cycle that much, but they all have their use for 60 cards and are fine in commander. WOTC also really loves utility lands don't they.
  • White can be cute with FOMO if you have delirium as it will trigger twice and could see play as extra bodies for a sac deck if low of creatures in hand
  • Blue is just a fine card and will be used in control to stick a wrath or make sure a counter resolves or potentially in some simic deck that wants to stick a big creature
  • Black is good for roots and maybe Ketramose
  • Red will basically be only used in cases when you really need card draw and you have no other choice. I could see it in boros burn maybe.
  • Green us just a fine card that can fix draws or set up the graveyard later on when you need to topdeck

Do you think Craterhoof is standard playable or is it just a reprint for EDH? With Lanowar Elves and Elvish Archdruid you could probably try playing mana dorks and mill cards to then try to reanimate hoof.

New any amount card

It might be fine as they have life gain duals, one tri land was shown so far, new 2 mana artifacts that find a basic land type in a wedge, creatures that filter mana, and evolving wilds.

Has Surrak punched anything yet?

Seeing the cards mentioned is jarring as I remember those from when I was a teen. But back then women didn't really play card games, but at least troons didn't exist.
Classic old fags represent!

But yeah, the End of the World is easier to believe in that than a girl playing card games.

I"ll admit Craterhoof being an Innistrad "native" always felt like a square peg in a round hole to me. He seems much more fitting to Tarkir or Ikoria.

(I know they're doing it for the Vorthos, but I can appreciate it for now.)

You're about a month late. Bots/Scalpers bought up all the Final Fantasy and Spider-Man collector boosters within minutes of them going live on Amazon. Unless there's a second drop (there won't be, see: Fallout collector boosters), you're going to be paying a good $100-150 over WotC's already inflated MSRP.

MSRP on the collector booster box was $429.
TCGPlayer currently has them for $620.

Back in my day damaged stacked and mana burned.

Thinking about it there were a couple where I lived, not bad looking ones, but they were usually someone's girlfriend there because the boyfriend played Magic, or hardcore pickme's that would end up dating someone twice their age because they had some vague status in the game and probably a little bit more disposable income. Now with Lorcana and how mainstream it has become, it's still that but a couple extra fat chicks and a whole lot of troons.

If Hoof does not make Mono Green Stompy playable without relying on Monstrous Rage to carry then Green Aggro is dead as a standard Archetype.
