Iona is fine in the 99, However as a Commander she becomes a very large problem for Mono Color decks to interact with, If you are a fucking Mono Color Deck Farewell is not a Fucking answer to Iona because you can't cast it and Mono Color decks should not be forced to run 5 bad removal spells because Iona exists and instantly hoses them out of the game.

Which is why Banned as Commander should be a thing, It does not improve the format to make the Mono-Red deck run shit like the 6 Mana Ugin just to deal with Iona. "GET GUD SCRUB" isn't a valid reponse when the Solution to that is "Play bad cards"

Lol chill, although i partially agree with you, remember theres 4 people at the table, so iona even more so nowadays shouldn't be a threat.
 
Honestly Iona may be better now than it was when it was banned, with so many people playing 3+ color decks it could have an even bigger impact.

It has nothing to do with the power level of the card to be honest, it is the gameplay impact. I don't even think Iona would make the cut in most of my decks, the only one she might go in is my Esper Reanimation deck but I am not sure Iona is an improvement over Serra's Emissary.
 
Or, just hear me out, you play bad cards and dab on people who play 66 staples and 3000 dollars worth of lands. You know how their deck works and they don't know yours. People in my play groups still think I'm good at this game. I'm not, I just build different.

Funny enough this is a tactic that i like to employ for randoms in my lgs. Play obscure shit jokulhaps or whatever the fuck the red wipe is or that one card that makes every single target trigger or spell to be randomized. Always keep them guessing

From what Maro has said, WOTC retains the right to reprint any Universes Beyond card in a Universes Within guise whenever they wish. The only reason for UB cards that become an important part of the meta to shoot up in price like that is retarded speculation based on retarded fears that should have been put to rest long ago.

Yes partially speculation, but also because a majority of competitive Modern or older decks are running One Ring and nearly every black deck is running bowmasters.

What I think is funny is that bowmasters isn’t even an exclusively LOTR card. It could just get slipped into a future masters set with no problem, it all comes down to if WOTC wants to make UB cards into the new enemy fetchlands: rarely reprinted even with their large prominence in the format.

Season of Weaving is a better Stolen Identity, I for one will run it in my Orvar deck because it's already degeneracy.
