What's the time frame, lore wise, between March of the machines and duskmorne? I find it doubtful there are many from named planes that haven't at least seen the remnants of phyrexians.

They're going to "redo" suspend just like discover was a redo of cascade.

Is this just the year of the remix?

Also seems the planeswalker involved in the set is the Wanderer. Just sparkless now.

And the showcase frames of this set are horrible.
I actually kind of like this conceptually, it is a not as good Rampant Growth that has a really cool payoff later.

Also it will be hilarious to randomly Proliferate Impending creatures just to troll people.

*looks on Magic Salvation Wiki to see if there are any clues to this.*

So According to the wiki, Caverns of Ixalan starts about a Year after the Invasions End, so its probably around 2 years. Each set seems to advance the in game calendar about six months.

Oh I've been in favor of token lands for awhile, (Though it seems they learned nothing from treasure and giving green access to the rainbow.) the "impending" is just.... I mean what happens when you move time counters around on these things? Just seems like a rules headache waiting to happen.

What is everyone's thought on ETB just being called "enters" now?

At least with token lands I can finally make this song a reality.

Bring back Birds of Paradise in standard!

In a Vacuum I wouldn't care but you know there are Troons out there whose axe wounds will quiver every time they say something Enters..

If there are any other decent ways to generate those fag lands 4c Atraxa ramp will take a 1 set break. Pretty sure the Dimir Atraxa reanimator shells will be fine though.

When I see what Magic does to a man I'm always happy I lost interest in it.

To be honest I have no idea who this guy actually is.
Ah magic historian. I've watched some of his live streams. He tries to be family friendly on his general videos, but he'll be pretty salty and edgy in those since it's like only a couple hundred viewers. He also does a channel devoted to magic lore and there's one clip, I think from a livestream where he's like "I can't make sense of any of this story any more. It's all awful and stupid!"

Oh he is Canadian, that explains everything about him doesn't it?
Yeah... nobody's perfect.

Mtg: foundations. Is this actually a good idea from wizards? How will they fudge the execution?

Oh so he is the other retard on the internet that actually pays attention to magic lore.

Core Sets never should have went away and should never have started printing new cards, quite frankly I would be okay with a Core Set that only changes when a better variant of whatever the baseline card is.

Like Cancel, Cancel is unplayable so put That new Spree one that is actually playable in it in Cancel's place and print it every year till something comes along, or Wedding Announcement..3 mana anthem effect that is standard playable.

Played Nadu in my friends EDH game last night- fuck me that card is strong. It's probably going to join Sylvan Primordial and Prime Time on thr "banned for being just retarded value" shortlist

You know - I think the Assassin's Creed set finally did it. It finally made me not care about the game. Not because I necessarily hate UB or anything - I think it's fine - but rather because these cards are just so overdesigned and narrow and obviously pointed at Commander, it's like... why do anything? Why deckbuild? Clearly, the company just wants to make everything on-rails and suck all creativity out of the one format with creativity left. 36 lands, 14 best-in-slot mana sources, 45 auto-include staples, 1 commander, and about 4 choices per-deck, in a causal format whose whole cornerstone was "play with the useless chaff you have lying around"

That would require the rules committee to do literally anything, so don't hold your breath. So long as MH3 is in print, they also wouldn't dare.

Confounding Conundrum really isn't good enough to deal with the bird, but if it's in your meta, it's worth thinking about. Tunnel Ignus could also be a very, very specific form of targeted "fuck-you" if they're built around the infinite.

Dealing with Nadu properly seems to require Lethal Vapors abuse or one of the handful of white "you can't play this card" cards. I have no idea what Wizards was thinking but they need to be given the Rosemary Kennedy treatment until they stop thinking it.

Harsh Mentor is the card they keep trying in modern, you could also use various "creature loses all ability" shit on him or do one of the most cancerous commander removal combos with Mystic Reflection targeting a (preferably basic) land turned into a creature which results in Nadu coming in as a basic forest or whatever until land destructions him or the player finds a bounce land or a way to animate the land.

Mystic Reflectioning people's commanders into lands is probably not a good time for the player on the receiving end but it is funny.
