Probably after a bunch of randoms publicly accuse him of being a sex pest.

I mean, he might not be a sex pest, but he's got that vibe, you know?
Oh Professor is a almost certainly rapist pedo.

Just look at him..and Imagine the SMELL.

I wouldn't be surprised if the accusations weren't made public and he ended up being quietly put on a certain list to protect the identity of the victims from the local school.

I'm not here to defend Prof. Though I would love to drop the revelations about TransLifeline into some comment threads like a grenade.

Still, it seems... difficult to get away with stuff for long in the community. Look at how quickly stuff came out about IHYD (both guys). Prof doesn't seem THAT big as to be protected or have a clout shield. Plus he does have repeat appearances on other shows and guests keep returning. Even if his dirty laundry wasn't leaking, I'd bet women, men and troons wouldn't keep coming back to his show.

Nah, I think he's just a mega dork who's awkward. More incel than sex pest.

Doesn't he have a wife?
He does.

Still, I wonder why he's brought the trans lifeline up again. My guess it's because supposedly the person who tried to shoot up Lakewood Church was a troon?

Still, I genuinely like the guy but the fact he simps for transpeople a little too much concerns me. It's either a fetish for him or, God forbid, he is an "egg."

why he's brought the trans lifeline up again
Because it's an easy PR move? Everybody in his circles say they love trans people. Some of them aren't lying.

Or, again, a PR move. If you go into normie internet it's prominently trans this, trans that, trans please, trans check that hoe, trans you're bullshitin'. Easly monetiseable. I won't say there's zero chance of you being right, but untill we have something substantial, I'm sticking with the most rational explanation.

He has had several trans people on his show too. Some of them more than once.

Prof just seems like someone who rose to prominence who really was never supposed to, not unlike James Rolfe. He's not really that charismatic nor well-spoken, and especially if you look at his earlier content, the main thing it's running on is authenticity and passion. Like a lot of people targeted towards niche markets, the most important thing was just to keep churning out unpretentious, genuine content.

You can pretty clearly trace when he got a team to write his scripts for him (it's when he started overacting in every single bit), when he got a dedicated editor, when he got someone who understood audio and lighting to set up his studio - these are good decisions to evolve content, but all the same if it feels rote, it's because it's often hard to have authenticity and passion when your bread and butter is on the line.

I think the reason he buys so much product is simple - he's addicted to buying the product. To keep buying the product, he needs to keep the show going. To deal with increased cost of product (and most inputs), he needs to keep the show growing. He keeps the show growing by pandering to the kinds of idiots who pay out stupid sums of money on patreon, which is to say he needs to pander to dumb rich scions with more money than sense. And dumb rich scions with more money than sense are the primary milk-cows for TransLifeline's... 2nd? 3rd? generation of embezzlers, because dumb rich scions don't go "wait, this exact same charity was indicted for embezzlement before? how many times?"

So to say, it makes perfect business sense to do this - mutually beneficial retard cultivation.

The increased production value does tend to make Prof's essay-driven videos watchable, but anything involving in-person play is unwatchable to me. There's so much discomfort in so many of those scenes, so much body language that screams "anxious in front of a camera," and one gets a strong sense that pivotal moments are 're-shot' with more dramatic reactions. I've just sortof gotten away from watching other people play games of commander, though; it's the same 100 or so cards every game. If I wanted to see that, I'd watch literally any 60-card format. Draft videos have become my mainstay "slap on in the background while working" fodder.

EDH used to be funner when it wasn't the format that WOTC focused on and videos of EDH gameplay have always been shit to me for the exact reason you stated. I think good stuff staple piles are the opposite of the intention of the format and that's all most of the decks in those videos are. On the professor, I've never liked his PBS doctor who wannabe gimmick where he explains simple things or reviews trash products from WOTC.

" Is buying Niggerfaggots of Homosexualia a worthwhile purchase?"

The answer is always no, just buy singles instead or better yet don't buy anything.

I don't necessarily lay the blame at Wizards for this trend, though they're part of it. While it's true that when they print obvious, braindead staples into the format, it is ultimately the players who say retarded shit like "I want to make a deck for this commander. I've already spent the $700 to pick up on all the staples for it - I really don't want to pay another $200 for a mana crypt, but I guess I have to. Can anyone help me slot in the 3 non-staple choices for this commander?" that's the player.

Take Cyclonic Rift and Rhystic Study, two blue staples. Study was part of one of the dumbest-designed sets in the game's history, and was a flop in the way the game was played at the time. Rift was a playable tempo card in RTR block, good in limited, but didn't really see a ton of use outside of there as far as I remember. It's obviously much better in this format, which was very nascent at the time. There's no real wizards influence in designing either of these.

And yet a seeming majority of this game's playerbase insists that if you are playing blue, you have to be playing these two. You have to shell out for them, or you deck will never win. Nevermind the literal hundreds of alternatives blue has for card draw or the dozens of other mass-bounce effects that blue has, all of which are worse-but-not-that-much-worse; the format is, apparently, completely unplayable unless you play the best of the best of the best.

And people who think this way also think it's "totally fair" to sit down across from a new player with a precon, because their deck is "still casual" because Wizards doesn't actually moderate the format in any way. EDH is a pubstomper's paradise that no other format allows for.
On the professor, I've never liked his PBS doctor who wannabe gimmick where he explains simple things or reviews trash products from WOTC.
I find when they're driven by a bit of research, they're useful. When he goes over reprint costs for a Masters/Remastered set, or a precon, it's good to have the prices laid out, organized, broken down into a digestible format. It's pretty easy to just look into this myself, but I just throw him on while I'm doing something else to get the overview; the last precon I bought was one of the MoM ones for the planechase cards, before the week-long interest in that format evaporated because "it gets in the way of my turn 3 combo too often."
