I used Norn and Virtue of Knowledge for that fucking around and finding out, it's bad and it's premium waste of time material, mostly because you can use the adventure to dupe dumb shit like planeswalker abilities and fetch land triggers. I played a meme azorius control deck where the reasonable win con was getting Compleate Jace out and getting him to enough loyalty to dupe the ult to make them mill 50 or so cards.

I am getting so tired of copies.

It's what I keep ranting about to some of my playgroup. It's one kind of flavor to say "ok this card is now a 1/1" or "is a food token" to then also tack on, "AND it has all the game text of the card too." Which like... wouldn't be a problem if we ALSO weren't in the era of novels on every card. Which means you've got to either copy the entire book onto an infi-token if you want to try and remember what it does some turns later, OR figure out some kind overlay you can put on the original card to try and remember the new stats it now has and--

MOTHER %(*^@#)$*&!
One day I want to do fucking custom tokens so that I can keep track of which copy is which.

Don't mind me, I'm just trying to think of ways to abuse Living Death on a Stick.

You spend 8 mana and cast it, it's a powerful effect and all but it's useless modern or older and is seems to be a tall order to do enough self milling to get ahead of you opponent while also having the right combination of interaction and creatures to win. It's also the sort of thing that just cleanly gets wrathed away again.

Abuse as in figuring out a way to cast it every turn in my reanimator deck.

Wasn't there an enchantment for black that lowers creature cost by 1 but gives it a -1/-1 counter when it ETBs?

That one's easy.

Have two, one of it in the graveyard. Let one ETB. Then it combos with the other and so on and so forth.
Actually wait how would the stack work on this one it's a bit iffy. I cant tell if the second half resolves before the new first or uhh...
idfk.

You need to cast it, so one can't reanimate into the other.

This is commander btw. My normal combo has Lurrus on the field (not as companion because I'm not a monster), crack Codex Shredder to get Living Death out from the graveyard every turn, use Lurrus to get back Codex Shredder, sac everything, and cast LD. I'm sure there's an easier way with the new card because it's a creature.

Not sure who this is for, unlike most of the universes beyond shit Marvel already has a perfectly reasonable CCG in Marvel Snap, so the only people who want this are M:tG fags with mild appreciation of current year Marvel, everyone else will get nothing out of this except pushed commander cards (statistically)
I was never a fan of universe beyond and can't stand current year capeshit, with Hasbro doubling down of licensed ips with real mtg getting the shaft. I been looking at other up and coming TCGs mainly Sorcery: Contested Realms. Art looks amazing gameplay seems competent, and when beta drops I'm November I'm just kinda going to look into that. I personally don't see a future for mtg ip sets in mtg in the next few years way things are going.

I don't think there are many. Bolas' Citadel lets you play it for life and avoid the onerous mana cost, but that's also true of the other Living Death variants, including the free one.

If you had a sac outlet, you can use Haunted Crossroads to put it on top of the library repeatedly for Citadel.
Tortured Existence becomes a way to recur this card to hand and to stack the graveyard.
Havengul Lich allows it to be cast from the graveyard, as does Gaea's Will.

But I don't see much breaking with this card. It's too expensive and unwieldy compared to wherever else the effect is printed.
Maybe demon/vampire decks will like it as a pseudo-boardwipe in-tribe, but that's dubious.

Why would you want to do that. The first living end can be good (you shoved a bunch of nice things in the graveyard with mill and discard while they casted theirs like rubes, you cast this and now you're WAY ahead because their nice things die and your nice things get put onto the battlefield) but then the second one gives them their stuff back and kills yours again unless you already sacrificed it. Granted, you can mitigate this with one sided graveyard hate like Dauthi Voidwalker but now you're in the 4 or 5 piece combo range and none of your opponents have any interaction for anything or win cons so you probably could have won the game 8 turns ago with literally anything else.

Don't let WOTC use Hasbro as a shield.

Universes Beyond wouldn't be such a success if the Magic IP were stronger, but after the past 15 years of sludge nobody cares about anything in terms of the lore..not even the hardcore players.

Agreed WOTC is Hasbro this no difference. WOTC is just branding at this point for a long time. True I would admit I don't really care a super lot either but I still care about MTG as a setting ,and a aesthetic. After Time Spiral WOTC only gave us boring storylines with few exceptions, retcon after retcon, everything being a black or white no room for nuonce, created a world no one cared about.

The thing also even if all of their lore was outstanding and some of the best stories ever written, UB is inevitable it's just far more cheaper and more profitable to use established Ips. (Don't have to pay for writers ECT...of stories already established.) It's basically why make new IP if established ips and sequels sell more.
But I'm going to say this anyone who likes the high fantasy aesthetic and does want a TCG with heart and soul, great art, and not full of licensed IP's check out Sorcery Contested realm not going to Plug it anymore but I highly recommend checking it out for those who care about such things.

I remember reading the BFZ storyline in college, and spending my lunch breaks at my new job reading the Ixalan storylines. Time spiral wasn't the end of quality storylines, but something has changed now. It's just not fun any more. I can't stomach any of these new planes and all of the characters I can't relate to or laugh at.

Spoiler finally dropped, we know what a map token is now. (Was it @Honka Honka Burning Love that predicted an explore function or someone else?)
