If someone put a gun to my head and said "You must sleeve ze full arts" I'd go for the phyrexian ones but otherwise I'd probably just run Ice Age or something similarly old-fag.

I’m a big fan of the og kamigawa lands in foil, but the full art ONE lands are really nice in foil, and are my go to full art lands.

Completely Agree here, except saying nothing is better in Foil...the only thing better than the foil versions of these is..The Non Foil versions since they aren't usually curled up like a Tranny trying to lick his own axe wound.
Oddly enough my foil versions of those lands didn't curl up so my experience is skewed.

Outside of nice memorable retro border cards, this is probably my favorite type of card variant. Any time I draw this card it's just so visible in my hand as an ace up my sleeve, and when I play it it's clear what it is and just looks like a trump card. The art makes it more fun and memorable, and that should be the goal imo.

Compare to a card like this: good luck telling wtf this card is across the table. And this is just a random example of a card I personally run and am not a fan of the art on- I know there's a lot worse out there.

I thought the OTJ full art lands were alright. My friend tried to trade them from me and I refused because I want to use them myself, so that's good I guess.

You know, I've played almost none of it, but I have to admit that OTJ has surprised me. The draft format is not retarded-fast zero-decision-making and at least more engaging than MKM, and there are consistent distributor supply issues because the stuff has stayed in pretty steady demand. Everything about the set's aesthetic is still dogshit disgusting, especially the newspaper-framed cards (I almost don't even want a dust bowl at this point), but I do have to say that it's the strangest place to find a bit of hope after last year's mediocre set offerings (excluding LTR).

I do fucking hope they lay off the crack and stop making 70 fucking legendaries per set.
The one good thing about full art lands being ubiquitous now is that almost all of them are really pretty and they're available in tons of different styles for cheap.
I'll be honest - I don't really understand why we haven't moved into an era of 'everything is full-art lands.' Why even print non-full ones at this point?

Full-arts of course have different proportions and composition, and some of the old ones designed for the actual border are indeed absolutely gorgeous. But I can't think of the last time I looked at a 'normal' land from modern sets and really... cared? Every now and then you get something nice, like Seb McKinnon's DMU swamp, but mostly they're trash.

Here's another fullart land I like: a dual land at that. I don't know why they don't print more of these, since dual lands are so valuable in Commander. I didn't even know my borderless foil Overgrown Tomb was worth over 10 bucks until I looked it up to get the picture. The foil is really nice and all the little blue bits glint and glimmer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I usually buy the exact cards I want from my card shop second hand, I don't buy stuff directly from WOTC. But if they sold land packs where it was just 3 basic lands, 2 non-basic lands, and a holofoil/rare variant, and they included a ton of new art and borderless/full art cards, I'd drop so much money. You're always going to need land cards for new decks so getting 3 or 4 worthless cards is totally okay if I get ONE borderless art dual land out if it. Everyone needs land cards, and in singleton formats the need for a wide variety of dual lands is even higher!

If they did that they'd be acknowledging the secondary market (because you know damn well those packs wouldn't be cheap) and they would be is some legal trouble considering they ostensibly market the game to teenagers.

Been listening to the two "Totally real" lovers of Magic the Gathering lore podcast.

You can tell they Obviously didn't read the Brother's War Novel and it amazes me the amount of whitewashing of Mishra is happening to make Urza look worse. The "new" Lore straight up ignoring the fact that Mishra's attack on the fall of Kroog was a surprise attack while under the banner of peace is hilarious.

Wait a minute....

that watermark means it originally showed up in a different set. Let's just go check out the original...

. . .

Did the girl in the new art eat the girl in the old art?
Oh No I didn't even look at the old art..I think they are supposed to be the same person but the second is older, fatter and even more Nigger.
