I just looked at all these events. I'm surprised they have the nerve to promote all this "neurodiversity" and "acceptance" but hide all their narcissism, ableism and hypocrisy behind the scenes and only show it if they deem you a threat.

It's just a convention fags, calm down.

They used to be very militant about masking when MAG first came back. You couldn’t even stretch your mask off for a nanosecond before some staffer bolted towards you shouting MASK! KEEP YOUR MASK ON! YOU DONT WANT THE RONA NOW, DO YOU?

Even Katsucon was less anal about masks when that con came back.
 
Well I went to Magfest this year I'llgive a damage report. There were a few maga hats on wensday, no one did anything but defintly a few reddit tier people who were upset.
The DJ on Saturday was very much FUCK ICE THANK GOD CHARLIE KIRK WAS SHOT IN THE NECK FOR BEING A NAZI!!!
My buddy who is nicknamed the dope pope got into the DJ and left, he ended up fighting 3 people for calling him a fascist and won.
All things considered it wasn't as crazy as I was expecting though every millenial and zoomer nerd is "FUCK ICE" Trans rights and super serial that Trump is a rapist nazi and very much true believers that they're in the right here.
 
So there's this plan to build a sphere in Baltimore like the one in Vegas, and Magfest fans are freaking the fuck out trying to get it shut down because they think it will bring even more normies to their event.

Im split here on this On one hand I am in full favor of taking the piss and angering some of the REEEEEEEE lefty autistic types who are fuck ice.
But on the other hand I do dislike the the fact that the DC metro/DMV area is going to have an ugly monument.
 
I know two people IRL who went to MAGfest this year.

Both of them gave me an "I'm too old for this shit" vibe when talking about their experiences this year (and neither person knows each other btw, so I'm getting two entirely separate takes). One of the people I know said that the night crowd at MAGfest is downright cursed and that shit gets really weird with those people (like, "Diddy Party" weird lol).

I've never been to a convention before, and I've turned down every invite I've received to go to one. I'm into a bunch of nerd stuff, but I really hate nerds as a whole. It is truly a conundrum. lol.

That's 100% fair. Cons are sort of an acquired taste, and I say that as someone who's a bit of an old head. General con culture has changed dramatically in the past decade.

If you want peace and quiet after you've had your fill of MAG for the day, it's honestly recommended that you get a hotel room at another hotel entirely, because MAGFest literally does not stop. 24 hour con + concerts/performances + huge drinking culture = nonstop noise. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that, it's just not everyone's cup of tea.

Maybe it's because I've been going to it since 2012 (and it's become probably the most pozzed con on the east coast), but MAGFest doesn't have that wow factor it once had for me. I know I talked about it on one of my previous posts, but some people brought signs that just said "Fuck ICE."

Was talking about this with a friend, but MAG attracts a lot of those "I only get out once or twice a year" nerds. You know the ones.

Ughhh I've been told that during the daytime, there's a lot of family-friendly stuff at MAGfest, so I imagine that there's quite a few kids there during the day? And grown ass people are showing up with signs with expletives on them?

Yeah no thanks.

I'm in the DMV area and I can say firsthand that Washington DC is most certainly one of the most pozzed areas in the country, so I guess this kind of stuff should not surprise me.

And yeah one of my friends told me that there's a lot of those types of nerds who go to this con

also, they think pushing this far-left shit and antagonizing anybody who doesn't believe 100% is doing anybody any favors.

They claim ANTIFA but they are fascist themselves and hypocritical as well.

I mean my dude is a good guy maybe a bit of a boomer with his conservative views but is known as the Dope pope.
But yeah ex-combat vet did the real shit there are more based people they're just in the underground.
I dunno outside the people who are virtue signaling their anger there is serious resentment against the left just growing you can sense everyone wants to call these people nigger faggots but no one wants to say anything.

So here's some cringe that came from the recent Magfest. Lolcow Cory Anotado of Buzzerblog had this Game Show thing where people played for pins, and it's amazing how awkward the people here are.

I also love how this is the description for the event, obviously the wrong one, but still funny as shit.
