Good stream, the analogy to the DMCA really made me think, there's really a gap there that something like the DMCA might be useful to fill it.

Provided I understood the arguments correctly, when the 230 was established there was a period where intellectual property laws where effectively completely circumvented because there was nothing which provided "teeth" for which to compell a platform to remove IP. The DMCA pierces 230 protections by making a platform owner liable if they choose to ignore a valid DMCA.

Likewise an act which does notice a platform owner when a business owner has suffered monetary damages as a result of arguable "disproportionate impact" moderation sounds interesting to me. For which after the notice they are liable for tort claims. While I agree with the sentiment that the undue political power the payment processors wield is the real issue, I think it will be a cold day in hell before MasterCard, Visa, and Discover let anyone legislate away the immense unelected power they have.

Overall I think you did well, I'm not gonna say i,hypocrite did bad but I really wish he had a little more knowledge about the subject before hand.
TL;DR: this isn't going to be fixed.
