Wallace is the last third party candidate for president to get any electoral votes (running on a segregationist ticket) and would have likely been the Democrat nominee in 1972 if he hadn't been shot and paralyzed in an attempted assassination.
LeMay was the architect of American Strategic Air Command (SAC) doctrine and policy from 1948-1960, chief of staff for the airforce from 1960 to 1965. He was the youngest 4 star general since Grant and was extremely vocally anti-communist. Ultimately, his early advocacy for bombing the Vietnamese (which the Kennedy and Johnson administrations ignored) was vindicated in the extreme success of Operation Linebacker under Nixon which forced North Vietnam to sign the Paris peace treaty and likely could have forced the issue 10 years sooner. He also advocated, along with MacArthur, dropping tactical nuclear weapons on the chinese army at the border with Korea during the Korean War which would have neutralized the chinese military and prevented those armies from being deployed into Korea and broken their supply lines. He hated communists and bug race, idk, seems pretty based to me.
