David Cage games aren't much different than the Life Is Strange series to me. They barely have any gameplay and are basically just overlong movies. Most of them have glaring problems with the plot.
In Heavy Rain the writers didn't know how to logically explain how the fat detective could be the Origami Killer, so they made the protagonist black out every now and then.
In Beyond: Two Souls the chapters are played out of order, so it's hard to follow what's going on. Moreover, there's clear filler like the part with the feather Indians and the ghost attacks.
In Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy the alien AI reveal is so abrupt you can't help but laugh. Especially since it's a wheelchair grandma shapeshifting into a glowing Lego Bionicle figure. Which is immediately followed by a midair melee fight like in the Matrix, if I remember correctly.
Omikron at least has real gameplay, but there's too many different mechanics (FPS segments, tournament fighting), it's difficult to find your way around the map and figure out what to do next to make progress, the hitboxes are godawful because it's an early 3D game etc. etc.
I think the only way to enjoy those games is to watch full playthroughs with other people riffing at all the unintentionally funny parts. I think Super Best Friends played all of them. Watching those idiots try to finish Omikron WITH A FULL WALKTHROUGH was pretty entertaining.
