Otherwise you’re like those fags who think TotalBiscuit was a based guy, because of how he sounded to them, and not a troon sweeper (his actual views in action). It’s just really lazy to assume someone could never make fun of an ironic and exaggerated form of their sincere beliefs. Every racist I know jokes about Italians and Irish not being white.

After all, I admit I have no solid proof so I’m wide open here.

As a newly addicted fishtank viewer I’d like to hear about fishtank. There have been some kino moments, and odd things like the AI (actual Indian) robot, and the antics of the Ginger Momhammedian might be worthy of mention.

I choose to believe in Yakub's redemption arc. I Just think a dude as smart as he supposedly was would eventually get over his grudges over being bullied for having a big head as a kid.

AI isn't "supposed" to be anything. Technology doesn't evolve at the whim of precisely what we want, there are plenty of drugs that were "supposed" to be one thing but happened to be good for something else (see Viagra).

It just so happens that computers are good at processing patterns taking place in digital files. In hindsight, obviously it was going to learn to manipulate digital works and objects in a simulated digital space before interacting with the physical world. Think of all the barriers to owning a humanoid robot, all the engineering and manufacturing that goes into creating it, ongoing maintenance costs, the liability for the manufacturer if it steps on your cat...we were always going to get digital agents first.

Also, AI isn't "doing your art," you're still doing it while using AI since you're the one making all the meaningful creative choices, including rejecting what it produces when it doesn't suit your vision.
 
Something that just came in that would be good to cover on the stream: Amos Yee was finally DEPORTED and was immediately arrested by Singaporean authorities at the airport for draft dodging.

Taking a photo also gets you a completed, flawless image instantly with one button press, requiring no skill at all, and we recognize the only human involved in production as its creator.

Josh is fully responsible for whatever forum changes or plugins he writes using Claude. He's not "commissioning" it, the robot doesn't own its code or get to yank it out from under him because it disagrees with the forum's leanings.

taking a photo and using a chatbot to figure out possible coding shit aren't the same thing, and neither of those things are the same thing as trying to act like an ai generated image is anywhere near the equivalent to one manually worked on. None of this shit is comparable.

Any two things are comparable. Flatly stating that no comparisons can be made while providing zero justification is midwit territory.

Who the fuck else is ultimately responsible for artistic, code-based, or otherwise creative decisions while working with AI than the sole person using it?

If you're editing an image with inpainting and the AI shows you 5 variations to choose from, and you say "I don't like these but I do like that one," the US Copyright Office has decided that this is a copyrightable human decision attributable to you, the user. The same would apply to any such choices in accepting or rejecting offered code changes.
