I remember the same thing. I even remember a goon being interviewed on some news show about Something Awful and him mentioning them making All Your Base. However, Something Awful is tragically gay now, Lowtax killed himself so he cannot defend his oldfag honor, and Wikipedia lists Newgrounds as the progenitor of it so I'm just gonna give it to them.

If the American consumer who is stupid, short-sighted and demands instant gratification suddenly no longer has the ability to pay and defaults on their debts, Klarna goes belly-up. Which is kind of what that constantly decreasing stock value is mirroring, that scenario of an economic downturn and associated bankrupcies/credit defaults is becoming more and more likely.
 
Don't know what they plan to do or who's going to get a bail out, but a lot of credit companies are going to deal with never getting their money back from the consumer directly. Least not from the ones that actually took out the loans.

Unlike the government who can fuck you up for the loans you've taken from them, Klarna has no means of enforcement to collect their debts and the majority of people borrowing from them don't care about things like credit rating or have the IQ to improve their life beyond defrauding Klarna. That's a potent combination.
