Yeah. I would say irl I'm probably slightly less racist than the average kiwi (I'm just assuming that, there are a lot of people with a lot of different views here, so who knows), but I still find the chink fetishism wierd, and disgusting. People will defend japanese culture, or other asian cultures until they are blue in the face, while looking down on their own.

I think it's partially because of how tied in 4chan culture is to the right wing now.

Yes, the drive array being degraded was impacting the entire site and I do not really know the technical explanation why. It wasn't even being used for the last week and it was still causing issues.

I use old-ass computers for some of my work and whenever shit starts not-quite-failing in a way I can't understand, it always ends up being drive (or drive controller) dementia.

Drives that get worked as hard as yours are effectively very old.
 
News of the strange.

An AI of Scott Adams got made a couple weeks ago and it has been gaining momentum. If you don't know, he died a few weeks ago. But today, the estate of Scott Adams had the channel nuked. All of Scott's orbiters that have taken over his YouTube channel under the guise of the Scott Adams School are circling the wagons and disabling comments.

It is both really fucked up (I guess from their perspective and mine as a fan of the AI) and also uncharted territory. The Scott Adams AI is still on X for now. But Scott's associates are gunning for that, too.

If a guy said for years that he wanted an AI self to live on and if a large chunk of his fans actually like it and find it theraputic, where does the law land on whether or not the family or estate needs to approve?

Looks like you guys were ahead of me, but let me add a twist to this.

The Coffee with Scott Adams channel has been doing roundtable discussions called The Scott Adams School. It has been... okay.

But they found out about the AI Scott posted above and were not very happy with it. And as of yesterday and today, comments are locked at the Scott Adams School.

I will get some clips in a few hours when I am less busy. But keep an eye on this one. It could turn funny really fast.

The ultimate irony is that I didn't know about AI Scott until the Scott Adams School told me about it. And I like...

With oxyacetylene you can at least capture the slag a bit easier, if someone is dumb enough to do it inside a normal room. For a grinder, obviously that would be dumb to use inside too, not necessarily because of the sparks (those can start fires too though) more so because of the of dust they create. It's not healthy to breath and it will cover absolutely everything. Plasma cutters are known for starting fires when people aren't careful with the slag coming out of the other side.

It’s because cultures are cool so long as everyone’s involved and it’s distinct. Every cultures cool, even the silly African ones, even Indian ones, as long as you have a moderate interest and others join in. Yes, even the poop throwing festival.

Japan is the pinnacle of this phenomena. Their entire anime industry is literally a propaganda wing. They structure their cities around tourism, as does Korea. If there were a billion animes about the Indian shit flinging festival there’s by a dung covered Indian girl nenderoid on someone’s desk somewhere.

This is not a joke. This is why anime exists the way it does. This is why low selling slice of life anime hit the web the same day as Japanese release but manga takes around a year to reach foreign markets.

In a normal environment, this interest would be towards their own traditions, but we’ve been completely fried, so now instead of romanticizing prom or 4th of July like our parents, my 24 year old coworker spent his first serious paycheck going to watch the new years fireworks festival in Japan.

You are dealing with victims who have been hit with double barrel propaganda. The Japanese do not apologize for their culture. We do. The Japanese pump out billions of dollars worth of cultural propaganda. We say happy holidays.

One thing I remember clearly but can't find was in one episode of MATI he said "Feeder tip number one..." and it took him several minutes of chyaaaat input to realize he said "feeder" instead of "streamer".
