The mildest, most generous approach I can have when it comes to that interview is that he wanted to "test the waters" to see how people would react at the prospect of more migrants.

As long as people are vocal about their disdain for them and rattle the birdcage every now and then, then we'll be fine. It's what I choose to believe because I believe the hate these people create for themselves transcends all barriers.
