It almost makes me think of Quasimorph which is based off a singular book called roses of the world which is like schizo spiritualism.

Extremely enjoyable stream. I would never have guessed that's who you were doing this October but I'm glad you did. Fuck rectum lappers and Germans.

Zine is pronounced zeen.

Since it's just magaZINE. I only know from back when I was a kid they were still talked about a bit. And I've heard it said out loud.

He pronounced it wrong because it's supposed to be written out as 'zine to use soyteen grammar.
 
Awesome stream. I was aware of Dec for a while tangentially, but never looked into the major lore since I thought it was just plain schizo rambling. It really is fascinating to see the greater context.

As far as the kosher-bosher thing, throughout NYC at that time especially on the lower east side you'd have a lot of kosher butcher shops with the words "בשר כשר" (basar kosher-kosher meat) stenciled on the front window or sign.

I imagine he'd have asked a Jew he was working with at one point when he was more lucid and the Jew being Hebrew illiterate (very common for secular American born Jews into the 1950s) misread this and this funny rhyming phrase stuck out in his schizo head whenever he would think about Jews. The other Yiddish word he liked to use was "Bubkis" (nothing, but emphatically) which is still common use among older people in NYC.

My nigga, it was a great stream. I was expecting you reading his rants to be shit but you edited it in a way that made it work, probably cutting all the pauses and making it sound like a paranoid schizophrenic was saying it.

It would have been AMAZING if the stream was also being broadcasted on the actual radio. It was mostly a radio broadcast since there was virtually no videos of him to share, so it would have been a perfect fit. lmao

Edit: I don't know how illegal it is, but if someone could broadcast it locally and show an actual radio playing it, it would be fucking awesome.

It would be cool if someone transmitted it and recorded it. It's kinda dumb because we can listen to the podcast on Youtube already, but it would be like when people record themselves playing a vinyl record and post it on Youtube. It's not the best way to listen to music, but it's still kino.

@mold mentioned how Francis E. Dec ties into the Book of the Subgenius, which many women are into. I’ve met more women than men who are into that book, strangely enough. I think fans of Dec or the Subgenius (which had its own church,) aren’t really determined by sex, more so these things attract people with interests in those directions. Subversions & counter culture, that type of thing. After my first few years on this forum, I was surprised at the lack of Bob Dobbs in the place:

Funny enough the reason I know about any of that at all is because of slackware Linux. Which I think is the oldest still maintained Linux distro. It's either slackware or debian that's the oldest.

But they got the name slackware from that. And have a lot of stuff based around the ideas from it.
