But how many books do you think are out there truly worth reading? I used to read a lot when i was younger, probably from 3 to 6 books a month but it was mostly fiction bullshit. It doesn't do anything except maybe giving you a better vocabulary, but if you're not in high school or college then even that is useless because you will see that even rich people can't speak or write properly, you won't get any job offers because you read To Kill a Mockingbird or something.

Karl Jobst dropped a four hour rant against the Completionist, Jirard Khalil.


Not that I trust Jirard with anything, and 100% believe he pulled a charity scam, but he could probably harness the collective ill will against Karl at this point and crowdfund a lolsuit to sue for defamation. Didn't watch the whole thing, so can't say if he has a case from this, but it's not like Karl could actually afford to defend himself again.

And the world is not one whole "society". Go to asian or arabic or african countries and it's another world with different values and different priorities.

Nurses who can test you are like 200 bucks tops with insurance. At least, in my shithole state. Save yourself money and go through the Wender-Utah rating scale first and see if you score reasonably high though.

Komatsu Hideo has revealed that the last mora of each line of the Man'yō-gana original (止加那久天之須), when put together, reveals a hidden sentence, toka [=toga] nakute shisu (咎無くて死す), which means "to die without wrong-doing". Well, it sucks that they experienced it, but I doubt they know more than people who write books about it and then get vilified and sometimes imprisoned for it. Nobody in their right mind says that nothing happened. You will still be called a "denier" even if you say that there were no mattresses filled with human hair etc.

Something fishy with this. Those terms and conditions are given to you before you ever apply for the grant as part of the application, and everything federal grant related is currently shut down.

They say they "submitted a proposal" in January, which would have been before the DEI ban, but the full application was due in April. The Letter of Intent was due in January, which is probably what they're referring to as the "proposal." They refer to the process as being "many months of work," which makes me think that they submitted the proposal/LoI in January, got "recommended" to apply, and then would have needed to fill out the full application in time for the April deadline. The full terms and responsibilities would be in that application, not the earlier LoI, and they would have been amended as soon as Trump declared the ban on DEI, so unless they somehow got the full grant application turned in several months early they would have had to agree to the DEI ban by April at the latest if they actually applied.

Supposing that they did actually apply extremely early somehow or just didn't read what they were agreeing to at the time, I don't think they would have heard back yet if they'd won the grant, or if they did it would have been before the shutdown. This is a really weird time to make the announcement.

My guess is that they filled out a LoI, were "recommended" to apply and thought they won the grant. Then, the people tasked with actually managing the grant got in over their heads and fucked up the application and either missed the deadline or just plain old lost the grant, and now they're pretending like the DEI stuff is the reason they didn't get the money.

I just did that because my wife keeps insisting that I have ADD and I think I'm just too stressed out. Anyone who had a bad childhood (I know I did) is going to score as ADD on that screener - the questions it scores are literally just "did you have a tough time when you were a little kid".
