When I got to the part of the recent show where Jersh was talking about the Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, obvious opportunity to shit on Black Mirror for being British was missed. It's one of the most recent incarnations of an episodic program like One Step Beyond, The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Night Gallery, Tales From the Darkside, Tales From the Crypt, Are You Afraid of the Dark? etc.

@Null you still didn't cover the evil autism research paper! It's been like more than a month.
I'm officially Mad at Mad at the Internet. I want to hear your take on the evil autism video and they mentioned k-farms.

(the above message is a light hearted joke, I'm not mad but would love to see the evil autism shit covered when you get a chance)

I like NET because it has notes on all the odd translation quirks between the different language versions and their various extant copies, but I digress. I suppose one could make the case that it isn't the black dick that defiled her, but rather what comes out of her that does. "For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person." In this case, she should only be forgiven when her heart matches what her words say.
I suggest ESV since it is the most literal translation possible with very little need for poetic interpretation and is best taken literally. NET however makes some concessions to reduce the reading level.
However I think NET and ESV are both valid since they both are translations of the original manuscripts (at least for the new testament, old testament can never be original due to oral tradition)

The fucking bijuniku shit or whatever is a funny fucking word, forgot to bring it up but I'm too lazy to edit it into my last poost. I don't like the tranny association nor how it's supposedly to describe people with avatars that don't match their sex though. Should be like some kinda tribal warlord king or something like just some buff ripped hawaiian guy or some shit, chief bijuniku. Yeah that could work.

Her and Gregory were together until the day she turned 30. She got dumped on like the day of her thirtieth birthday. You are again just wrong.
Shit I almost forgot about that :story:

Her and Gregory were together until the day she turned 30. She got dumped on like the day of her thirtieth birthday.
this is the most embarassing shit.
you spend your 20s acting like a fucking... the shit she did
and then just get tossed aside when you crack 30.
it's kind of impressive she didn't kill herself.

Kinda shocked no one has mentioned old yeller yet. The ending is the best of the 3 major sad dog movies (Marley & Me, Red fern and old yeller) IMO.
marley & me is more tragic than old yeller, sorry if people dont want to hear that.

temu version of Kargath Bladefist.
I don't even want to think about what this guy is like.

Kargath Bladefist is Temu Grom Hellscream who is famous for being a complete fuck up whose one non-fuck up act involved him dying.

I'm late but
Broke: There's no other intelligent life. Suck it up buttercup. The lonely humanity belief.
Woke: everything is too far away and shit and intelligent life just self-terminates as a logical conclusion to similar competitive instincts that made it intelligent in the first place. The apocalyptical/nuclear eschaton of intelligent life belief.
Bespoke: The Dark Forest- any intelligent life that has survived has at a civilization-level decided that it would be a terrible idea to announce its presence to the wider universe, as any further advanced civilization would view another up-start sentient life form as a potential existential threat and eliminate it ASAP as game theory dictates. Therefore we live in a universe of mutes, as any loud species are culled by more advanced and more savvy species. The belief in a frustrating reality where we cannot know because knowledge by either side would result in an existential crisis for either species and likely most, if not all the life, in our/their zones of life

Supermicro makes consumer grade motherboards?
Yes because companies will buy them from a systems integrator and pay for the warranty so that if anything goes bad they just ship it back to them for RMA service. Some SIs will have deals that let them buy the boards in bulk at a lower cost.

Dark forest is a massive interconnected web of dumb ideas. Overwhelming blind preemptive force is NOT a dominant behavior of any serious game theoretic model. Imagine you detect a radio signal from the nearest neighboring galaxy and decide for some insane reason to kill it sight unseen. How do you propose to do that? A relativistic projectile is the only planetary scale weapon that we even have the ability to describe currently, launching one would require a global infrastructure project spanning centuries, and it would arrive at your target some 5 million years after their radio signal was sent by which time you can be fairly certain they're dead, gone or unassailably advanced. The only reason it's not suicide is that it would be equally pointless for them to waste the energy responding that you did to attack them in the first place.

Life is predicted to be more common by fermi equations (leaving aside the idiocy of trying to predict an outcome based on an unknown number of unknown variables with a sample size n=1) than we observe it to exist in nature. Faster than light travel isn't predicted to exist in nature at all.

My 3 solutions for the fermi paradox is:

1. Once they reach post scarcity society and they live in a world with no wars or conflicts because they genocided other inteligent races in their planet they will reach stable numbers and stagnate because there's no reason to keep progressing so they just indulge in space 4D minecraft awaiting for the heat death of the universe.

2. The tech that allowed them to become so good at progress also made them incredibly dumb as they outsourced their brain capacity to their version of AI, soon they become so incredibly stupid that the final generation is living among the ruins of tech they cannot understand or maintain anymore undergoing a slow death spiral until they either regress to a point that allows them to bounce back or just go extinct in the most pathetic way possible.

3. Life is so different that they are looking at planets that look similar to their origin one and planets like earth look like unlivable hellholes because they are aliens made of silicon or some other substance besides carbon, so we are looking for eachother is just that we are also looking at widly different spots.

"It is madness to harass the mind, as some have done, with attempts to measure the world, and to publish these attempts; or, like others, to argue from what they have made out, that there are innumerable other worlds, and that we must believe there to be so many other natures, or that, if only one nature produced the whole, there will be so many suns and so many moons, and that each of them will have immense trains of other heavenly bodies. As if the same question would not recur at every step of our inquiry, anxious as we must be to arrive at some termination; or, as if this infinity, which we ascribe to nature, the former of all things, cannot be more easily comprehended by one single formation, especially when that is so extensive. It is madness, perfect madness, to go out of this world and to search for what is beyond it, as if one who is ignorant of his own dimensions could ascertain the measure of any thing else, or as if the human mind could see what the world itself cannot contain."-
Pliny the Elder

The Dark Forest and the entire trilogy of the Three Body Problem are probably some of my favorite books. Shame how Netflix made the main characters niggers.

Assuming we live in a totally materialistic universe without a god that interferes in anyway, this is a short list of everything that needed to happen to result in us

The Universe needed to go through several star formation cycles to seed itself with the necessary elements to create life in a high enough density that it could even possible for life to exist

Then a star system needed to form with a high enough density of those materials

Then a rocky planet needed to form in the habitable zone of a star so that life could form

Then that rocky planet needed to create a heavy enough atmosphere to retain water

Then life had to emerge in such a way that it would reproduce

Then life had to survive the planet rusting and learn how to "breath" oxygen

Then one organism had to form a symbiotic relationship with another opposed to just eating it

Then an organism had to become a collective of itself

Then that collective had to become complex enough to become an animal

Then that animal had to learn how to get onto land and stay on land

Then that animal had to survive predation and various mass extinction events

Then it had to become intelligent enough to form complex social groups

Then it had to evolve complex hands that allow for effective manipulation of objects

Then it had to become intelligent enough to create tools

Then it had to become intelligent enough to develop meta-cognition.

Then some groups needed to discover agriculture so civilization was possible

All of this took 14 billion years to happen by chance and if at any point one of our pivotal ancestors just died without reproducing, we wouldn't be here, so the chance that it would happen anywhere near us is extremely low, and if FTL travel is impossible then so would an interstellar empire due to time dilation of traveling in a relativistic universe. Advanced Alien civilizations may send out colony ships to other star systems, but they would always be one-way trips any many would die out before reaching their destinations.

Sounds like that /x/ post about how the "great silence" all but confirmed the existence of RKVs. I remember thinking it was deep but in retrospect the anon was probably just repackaging something they read.
