The book has at least fifty IQ points on the movie. Its characters are all confused and implausible, as unreal as their names, and the events are ridiculous, but never in a way that "takes you out of it"—if you accept it and let it happen.

The movie is retard shitlib ripped-from-the-headlines anti-Drumpf propaganda—in fact, in its critical reception and fan understanding, despite its maker's claims to having made something deeper or less deep (whichever's convenient). I think the director's rejection of praise for making exactly the kind of establishment propaganda he intended to make is embarrassment at what stupid assholes it's turned out to appeal to. (How could he not have known? He's not very smart.)

I say this without having seen it, and I never will see it, because it's a travesty of something I like, and it's not made for watching but for being for or against, to consoom or reject, and to say things about (yourself).

The book was almost great. Less so now, with another man's horrible turd hanging out of its ass.

The filter is if you can take four years of bullshit courses without switching to something challenging then you are clearly ready for 40 hours a week in a cube mindlessly replying to emails while getting to enjoy casual Friday and a weekly yogurt bar. If you are in a 15 minute city with a hour or more trip on public transport then you live in the office complete with a $15/meal cafeteria, privacy cubes for personal calls, and a rec room with a ping pong table. Mediocrity rewards mediocrity. There will always be a need for a massive lemming pool while waiting for automation to economically replace the current mundane but technical task.

Don't mind the signaturefags—signatures are mostly a formality nowadays and nobody cares. Anywhere you go, you’ll be recorded; there will be some type of financial transaction tied to your name, etc.
Signatures are easy to forge, so they’re shit as a form of authentication. I have boomer parents (as in, my dad was born in the late 40s) and they have cryptic fucking signatures—it barely looks like anything resembling their names. However, I understand that in a pre-internet era, before cameras were everywhere, it was a good ‘security measure’ to have a weird-ass signature. It was easier to tell if someone had forged it.
Honestly, I don't understand why people obsess over signatures. I just write my name in cursive and that’s it.

By the way, on an unrelated note: you wear gloves on your reviews to avoid glowies getting your fingerprints, but do you also use gloves when writing letters to avoid leaving fingerprints on the paper?
