Neal Mohan forced me to watch this video, and I will now share this Wise Man's wisdom with you all. Don't let KFC know this one simple trick

This was a topic on the show not too long ago. It would be great if farmers could start selling locally without dealing with the feds and their limited number of USDA approved slaughterhouses.

New Hampshire Has Beef With The USDA's Long Wait Times

Per the article, state representative Judy Aron is quoted "Maybe if someone does get sued, it gets national attention and they may do something federally to fix it, finally," so it sounds like the state would potentially interject on a federal lawsuit on behalf of a farmer if the feds went after them. Very interesting if this worked and other states followed their example.

Drives me fucking CRAZY how insanely concentrated and stupid the US food supply is.

The average piece of food you put in your body in the US travels fucking 1000km to get to your plate. That is insane.

Production and manufacture naturally centralizes to the highest amount feasible by logistics. It's usually cheaper to make lots of stuff in a few places than few stuff in a lot of places.
The easier it bevomes to move things the more stuff will centralize to reduce prices to get the price advantage.

If you want to buy local, buy organic, no joke.
From my time working grocery, I learned that organic food pretty much exclusively has to be produced at the very least within the state.
The organic label legally implies a heavy restriction on which preservation methods are available, so lots of organic foods that haven't been frozen cannot spend much time travelling or they will probably go bad on the shelf.
You might think it a buzzword, but having the word "organic" conspicuously on a food product carries some serious weight.

Everything's from California or Mexico. Lots of jarred/canned stuff is from Thailand or China.

When I worked at a yuppie organic shop, we got bell peppers from the Netherlands and sometimes Israel. The place pretended to be an "environmentally friendly" company. Lol.

Also, in the US, "local" food just means it grows within 400 miles of where you are. So if you're in FL and you know a farm 10 miles away grows onions, your farmers market could be selling stuff from North Carolina or Alabama. Hell, some farmers markets vendors aren't even screened and sellers have been caught buying bulk from Aldis and Costco to sell to unwitting buyers at boutique upcharges. You can't trust farmers markets anymore. Gotta go directly to the source or buy from roadside stands.

Sorry if this has been asked before but... What proof is there about Sam Hyde? Last I recall you got super excited to prove that he was a pedo or whatever and ended up having a high-as-a-kite schizo rambling about nothing? I don't follow Sam Hyde at all, so I don't know anything about this.

Nah, not true. You have to read the labels on your fruit and veg. The bar to pass to be considered organic under the regulations placed by the FDA are usually too expensive for local farmers. Most organic stuff tends to still come from California or out of the country.

It's pretty well proven that Sam had at least one relationship with a girl who was a teen but legal (16+) when he was in his late 20's/early 30's. The receipts are somewhat complex but are in the thread and pretty much air tight. There was also a weird BDSM aspect that seemed extremely intense.

I do think it's a fair criticism, he's never really publicly addressed his past indiscretions and they seem pretty incompatible with his current attempts to position him self as the advocate for the white family.

Just imagine having to wear a professional latex mask just to use fucking Youtube.
it suppose to allow people ( rich & famous ) to DMCA Video on youtube instead of 4 button press for privacy grounds & leaked info.
later normal person will give their face & video will be to dmca .
mostly more censorship & AI privacy controls.

I live in an agricultural area, I've got family who work on farms, and I work in the restaurant industry. Some notes:

1) Most of what is grown is exported to other countries, very little is actually distributed locally or on the state / national level. We end up importing the same type of produce that's exported, from other countries, none of it makes sense
2) most restaurants & groceries deal with corporate suppliers / distributors instead of working with local farmers or butchers. It's not necessarily more reliable or cost effective, the price point that I've seen is negligible
3) Whenever possible, always source your produce / meat from a local farmer or butcher. They're much more common than most would expect. This goes for eggs, milk, vegetables, etc. Milk is harder to come by since raw milk is like some precious black market commodity, it's well worth it if you're able, though. Most farmers / butchers are willing to negotiate deals, for example I have a "subscription" with my local butcher where I receive a dozen eggs and specific cuts of meat/poultry every month for a recurring fee. Farmers markets are 100% worthwhile too. Make friends with aggies, most are smelly hippies but they love their local communities and will hook you up with produce if they like you
