If I have to endure something unpleasant- say, a gross stench- in order to receive a benefit, if at some point I decide it is no longer worth enduring the stench in order to receive the benefit, that doesn't mean I'm terrified of the stench. It's just not worth enduring it- especially if I can get the same benefit through less-stinky (albeit more expensive and arduous) means.
It's just one of many cases in which prog-libs portray your natural white inclination of not being indulgent and encouraging of antisocial brown shenanigans, as some kind of unreasonable fear. Maybe I just don't like it. Maybe I just don't want to have to fucking deal with it. In the same way that I don't want to have to endure smelling stinky garbage. I'm not terrified of garbage. I just don't want to have to smell it.
A lot of people don’t really get how the Islamic faith handles its canon, since every approved analysis is comprised of divinely inspired wisdom (and is therefore unquestionable) once something is added to the list it is forever canon and for the rank and file, well above your pay grade to question, The actual books normal devout Muslims read are like, 5 degrees of analysis from the source material and instruct you specifically on to what degree you can question.
The Christians don’t believe every canon work is divinely approved which is why some random book doesn’t matter. It’s also why we don’t see burning a Quran as a big deal but for them it’s literally you burning the protected word of god.
(This means some of the bloodiest wars in history are actually fandom arguments)
The Shia and Sunni have been fighting each other for hundreds of years over whose expanded-universe commentary is true or not- they each agree on the basic Quran but differ in which supplemental texts they accept as true. And, in similar fashion, Christian Europeans fought many bloody wars and conducted
inquisitions to root out people who bought into (or didn't buy into) various other supplemental texts, or had the wrong ideas about something.
But, at least, no Christian's claiming as canonical truth and giving
hasbara about the concept of Jesus Christ raping a nine-year-old. That is exclusive to Islam. There's various early-Christian Gnostic texts that offer perspectives generally considered heretical, but in the same way that the early Muslims aggressively quashed dissenting takes- see the Uthman canonization, where some Muslim ruler decided one version of the Quran was right and aggressively had every other copy of the text rooted out and destroyed- Christians did ultimately the same thing over the years.
Main difference is, the Christians had an Enlightenment period, and while the Muslims briefly had a similar thing several hundred years ago in what is considered the "Islamic Golden Age", that all got reversed and now they're back to inflexible Iron Age traditions while the Christians have gone on to create the modern Western world.
Regardless of whether Muhammad fucked a kid or didn't, or even existed at all, the two cultures are utterly incompatible and every single one of them needs to be sent back to the desert.
