Are these the gas station pump ads that Josh hates? Or is he talking about that god awful Gas Station TV?

yes, i will never visit a gas station twice that puts video ads on the monitor like that if they have sound. i will avoid ones with videos period. however, i am willing to tolerate in-store ads only, like "come inside we have slurpees and pizza". that's fine because that's how they survive. no exemption for sound though. will not tolerate sound.
 
Usually the 'mute' button on the gas station ads is the second one down on the right.

If it is, I take a pen and label it "MUTE" for everyone's convenience. I should have tiny mute-symbol stickers printed up.

Yeah, Flying J and Loves mostly shows ads for the foods and drinks inside. I think they make a lot of their money on food and drinks so I can see why they would advertise it. And I didn’t hear any sound from the pump (It must’ve been muted). I think the regular gas stations that have Gas Station TV (the pumps that show random ads) are pajeet ran gas stations.

It's so prevalent in Canada, complete fucking Hell.

A new thing north of the border is we used to be able to pump our gas and then go in and pay and that's becoming a thing of the past, which is more practical for a low trust society but damn its what I miss most.

Not no more it doesn't. Fucking thing at chevron. I was trying to push allll of the fucking buttons and it gave me a fullscreen ad. The attendant came out and was like you're pressing the help button 'no I'm trying to figure out how to mute this peice of shit'. Then he said 'I've never seen it do a full screen ad before'. The fucks are punishing you for trying to get away from their ads. And you have no idea how frothing mad I am thinking about it.

I am not in any way advocating damaging corporate property, but if they won't give me a mute button for the ads, I'm going to mute that speaker one way or another.
