Angry African black man, who must be toward what constitutes the right side of the bell curve in Africa, rants about how Africans have no concept of maintenance and that is why they can't have anything nice. He compares it to the difference between the Western concept of the nuclear family versus the African concept of larger extended family. He contends that Africans, especially sub-Saharan Africans, literally do not have any concept of how to maintain things, and that part of it is linguistic- there's simply no term for it, because culturally they are used to nothing more maintenance-heavy than mud huts. He is especially focused on the concept of casual and culturally-accepted littering. He is very bitter and fed-up with his own people.

I thought this was interesting but didn't know where else to post it. I didn't think it was worthy of its own thread.

"There are many words that do not exist in some cultures. In Africa, "maintenance" is one of them... Maintenance is not what you do with railway stations, and airports, and your home. Maintenance is a proactive behavior. You look at a place, the way it was designed and built, and you say, 'this is how it's going to remain'... You are trying to maintain what you came to see. All Africans saw was bush roads, rivers flowing, jungles, and mud houses. What is it you're maintaining? Nothing! Then comes along the foreigner, who came to build structures, now that requires a concept, already in the basic fundamental of your living, to be introduced to those things... Not a single infrastructure left behind by colonials has ever remained, including Haiti, and Jamaica, and everywhere."

I've read somewhere that there is no word for "exact" in these tribal languages Africans speak. The closest meaning to it was only found in a few of the thousands of spoken languages, and it means "to be straight like an arrow" which isn't what "exact" means.

I work with mystery meat hispanic mongrels, that when speaking their perversion of the Spanish language, use it exclusively to speak amongst themselves. The bilingual ones, however, when discussing something that is wrong with a machine, intersperse English words to describe the exact malady. As if their native language is insufficient and has no words to describe such things.

To be fair, living on the shittiest continent where disease, wild animals, and turbulent weather in some of the most hostile environments such as the Sahara, Serengeti, Congo, and others would probably have you not give a shit either. You move where the resources go, because trying to make something significant last in these environments seems incredibly retarded. Nigga I gotta worry about Simba, the fuck do you mean the pipes need fixing? Fuck that I'll just go to another watering hole

Didn’t Josh recently talk about Stable coins lol

Here's the real crux though, do they skim more or less of my money for the purposes of evil?
most people dont know what ACH is.

it stands for automated clearing house,

In the old old days you would write a check. So lets say you go to the alphabeta supermarket, you take out your lincon savings and loan check book and write the check for your 30 dollars in groceries. That check is a promise of fund from you bank (Lincon) but lets say Alphabeta used Bank of America. So your lincon check goes to Bank of america the pull its up and then send it to Lincon savings and loan. Who then put a mark on it and mail it back to you as proof of payment. That fucking little peaice of paper was shipped all around the state or in some cases multiple states, The fucking banks had armed parking lots where they moved duffle bags of checks.

It would also take 10 days for funds to move which lead to people kiting checks,

Anyway here is the wikipedia article

In short the ACH is not a customer driven service the customers arent normal people but the banks themselves

the US having such a huuge number of banks means that its not instant but they do settlement in batches. Trust me I fucking deal with this shit. One of my employers still pays which a check that I get at the end of the fucking month which means if I go to the bank on a friday I get a 3 buisness day hold so it wont be till the following wensday that I get all the funds.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Does it become a PM HOLE at noon?
When Kevin Gibes dies he will be called PM hole.

Lol yeah my broke ass family used to float checks so they could get away with shit before payday. Or writing a check to cash 3 days in the future. It used to be easy to scrape by the Walmart store. Now when you write a check they have OCR auto check thingy built into the reciept machine. It even writes it for you. Holy shit I need to look into that.

Man things have gotten more advance back when I jocked a register you would input the check and run it through the reciept machine to endorse the back.

What sucks is with the big banks using zelle there no reason to force the ACH to be instant or near instant.

Again its a head ache for me because I pay my bills with ACH and often space shit out to make sure I dont fuck it up.

It is definitely baffling to see Sam Hyde go straight from gorilla nesting to interviewing Nick Fuentes
