Also you should also consider offering to interview Ross. He seems pretty open to talking to people until the 31st of July(when the chance to get signatures ends). I think an hour or two talking about how shit copyright law is or something would be a pretty good segment, and give some mutual publicity for USIPS and the "stop killing games" initiative.

as someone who's paid for a few mentorships from local academic live figure classes. and has an art degree
nothing annoys me more than hearing non-artists that have zero interest in the medium, tell me how they think art works.
that's the real AI epidemic here, retards like grummz saying stupid shit he doesn't even care about.
His comparison of artists learning being comparable to AI is like an alien with no eyes trying to describe how shapes relate to composition.
this is like saying there's no difference between someone playing a video game, and someone watching a lets play and saying they had the same experience.
every creative medium has a interactive aspect to it. the only way to recreate something without tracing or some very specific toolset that requires some real world setup like Sight Size method.
is to already have a solid grasp of fundamentals, (lighting, perspective, composition, how to draw 3d shapes on a 2d plane, understanding the limitations of this) and that's only for real world subjects with the goal of just drawing an ""accurate"" representation of what's in front of you.
there's a even deeper set of tools and way more thinking that has to be involved if you're trying to Recreate an art style or intentionally omit specific aspects to push an idea to make something more interesting to look at. (better than real. an elephant with blue eyes) and everything I mentioned here is all happening all at once. it's like you're playing a game and deciding what build you want and already thinking how you're going to beat the boss while you're still at the start screen.
Grummz speaking like that is part of the "I don't care about anything," mentality.

In 20 years, the county my parents live in had their spic population literally triple, from 12k to 36k, meanwhile the whites went up from 355k to 377k. Nigger population doubled from 13 to 26k. If you want to get rid of the damn dirty coloreds, you gotta take over your government and get rid of government benefits. Make the government shit itself every quarter so bennies don't get paid out. Vandalize the benny dispensers. For the spics that work under the table and make it impossible to get a laborer position anywhere, you tax any money that goes out of the country and to Mexico or South America. Remittances and whatever else. You also gotta hit them hard on making sure they live where they say they do with who they say they do, otherwise, you get a bunch of spics living together with their baby mommas collecting government bennies, while the men work under the table and claim no residence or some obscure residential address in the middle of nowhere, where 20 other spics also claim they reside.

it's not really useful when you're trying to learn art. but I can see how it could be used in a way to fit in an art process.
the real problem is not depending on it to the point of it's doing all the work, and you can't decipher what it's outputting and not having complete control over what it outputs.
that's already a concept with 3d animation, where you can pose your model, make frames, press play, but if you don't understand how the program interlopes your frames, you're going to be fucking lost and waste time. you have to be able to look at this and know what will happen to your animation when you fuck around with the bars:
(2d people don't have to deal with this, they just "unga bunga I draw frame, then nother frame, then nother frame, then noth-", the biggest advantage of this is you can iterate and make controlled drastic changes faster and focus entirely on the idea, that shit above is like looking at the matrix code, it's hard to understand at first, but it gives you more control over timing and you can adjust shit)
I never understood the problem with full hate from non artist trying to make the point that AI should make Artists upset.
it's kind of like saying I should hate 3D tools when I invested more time into 2D tools, and 3d does some things faster.
But the thing is, a lot of those same fundamentals like how lighting works, composition, anatomy, animation carries over to 3d
and if you already know a good amount of 2d, you'll only add to your skill set on top of being able to do some fuckery like bringing 2d ideas into 3d and being able to run circles around someone who just has a 3d background.
AI will eventually be how 3d and 2d can play off of each other and still maintain that level of control without losing the interactive aspect.

Im not a fan of people not asking for permission to train off something you intend to make money off of.
it's not too unreasonable to at least credit everything you fed the AI. it's like if I stole bits and pieces of posts here, strung them together and made a youtube drama video and didn't credit the farms.
again, it's not the tools I have a problem with, just how they're being used and being developed by people who never ask artists for any input.
it's like if I, as an artist start changing how people should program for their industry.
only making decisions based off my training as an artist to determine what good programming is.
actively telling people who actually program they know nothing about coding and start talking about how triangles are inherently a strong balanced shape to use for composition.
and that's why there are no letters in coding now, shapes work better in a visual language.
and when you're struggling with all my nonsense rules I'm forcing you to follow
