To be fair, Mexicos control over that area was tenuous at best. It was based solely on the Spanish Empires claims and they were just lines on a map. Besides a few trading posts on the California coast the Mexicans had fuck all population or governance in any of it. The USA didn't conquer the area so much as just walk in and plant the flag. The entire Alto-California campaign was a couple hundred uniformed troopers and some militia. Almost all the casualties were illness and injury. The only major engagement was the Battle of Monterrey where a grand total of Zero people killed or injured on both sides.

I have been taking screenshots of several MATI episodes over the years with the intent of learning how to make video and audio clips in my spare time. I searched around and didn't see a clipping general anywhere so I'll only post these tiny bits and might make a YouTube or something later if I keep it up. Happy Memorial Day!
