I was expecting some sort of payoff with the ex. It would have been so cathartic if you could reconcile with her , especially if you played like you still had feelings for her. But the big payoff with that is "let it go bozo". A normal ending where you deal with your issues and get back with your ex would have been too traditional and they had to subvert expectations and make it meaningless. Millennial writing is so played out. Its even more rigid than what came before.

Wanting something more nuanced, realistic, and most of all DIFFERENT even if it sucks is normal for them.

I just read a comic book called plain jane and the mermaid and the mc does the whole growing by seeing she dont need a husband it was just the whole world bulling her.

There is a writter on royal road that is very creative with her world building but I can see the theme of tumblr ism shining through.

Why are you trying to take Presidents' Day away from Andrew Jackson, Teddy Roosevelt and the other badass presidents?
(Upon further research, I have found that in certain states, it is referred to as "President's Day." However, Utah is not one of those states. However, I see many uses of "Presidents Day" with no possessive apostrophe. I am now under the impression that no one actually knows how this holiday is supposed to be spelled, and I must rescind my autistic nitpick. You win this time, globohomo Redditors...)

I'm glad somebody else brought this up as I was coming far to late to suggest this. Imo, I think this probably the worst anyone has made Phil look. Although it was mostly Phil's arguments that really made him look bad.

She's a fucking bitch who aborted your child. The only payoff she deserved was a bullet in the head.
Beyond that crossing of the rubicon, she was the one who was unsatisfied with Harry being just a poor teacher, pushed him into becoming a cop, and when he worked hard to get them out of poverty, she didn't like the effect what she forced him to do had on him, so she cheated on him and then left him.
While Harry, in all of his fuckedupness, desperately wants to get back with her, it would be a worse ending for him than getting spirited away by the Moralintern and executed in secret.

Also the reaction to Trump pushing for an end to the Ukraine war from the English volunteers to Ukraine has been absolutely nuts. Like they truly want that war to go forever until Russia is hollowed out and conquered.
