It's astounding me how many allegedly conservative griftflencers are trying to make someone manning up and taking out a corporate parasite, putting the fear of death in the rest of the corporate parasites, into some identity politics issue.

Mind you, Mangione is a fan of Kaczynski and thinks that porn should be heavily regulated, so I imagine he leans conservative himself.

Yes, the unironic thirst-posters are annoying, but only because they're dumbing down the conversation.

I get what you're saying, but things were different back in the day. Most porn sites had paywalls attached to them until things like pornhub and xvideos came along, 'free porn' was mostly a scam meant to sucker people into clicking on links that lead to AIDS for the PC. Most homes usually just had one or two computers in the house until demand went up in the late 2000's and that meant there was more supervision and control over what teenagers were using the Internet for.
Now it's the complete opposite. The Internet is in our pockets now, and scrolling on Xitter at a certain time and place can get you to see a chick getting railed out of nowhere. There's more free porn sites than ever and unlike two decades ago, there is zero work/cost for seeing it. If I was a teenager in todays day and age, the mental scars I'd have would make my current ones look adorable.

As for the government stepping in, I think this is one of those cases where it makes sense because really, how else are you supposed to stop minors from doing something they're not yet allowed to do? We ID check everyone trying to buy cigarettes and alcohol, don't we? A lot of bars card you just to let you even set foot in the place. Yes, a lot of teenagers still get alcohol regardless but at the very least, it adds difficulty for them to get it and it puts a system in place to track down whoever's breaking the law and giving minors things that will damage them. Though you do have a point about them taking a mile when given an inch, I could see them trying to require an ID check for anything that could be considered 'adult content' (including this place because it has naughty language). Though my main concern would be: all that's going to happen is everyone's ID info will be more susceptable to getting hacked, as if we need THAT predicament to be made worse.

My favourite part is I am 100% cool with what the dude did to the CEO. I have 0 qualms with it and think corrupt and unjust people in positions of authority and power deserve what he got, but tell a person that him doing that won't change anything because he isn't the government officials allowing it, and people get big mad. He makes the insurance policy and shit, the government codefied and encouraged it. They don't get it.

I'm sure that at their size they have great load balancing and DDoS mitigation, but yeah Jimmy Wales is a grifter and I would love to see Wikimedia Foundation get some kind of comeuppance for all of the journonigger tier disinfo that they create.
