I vaguely know of short fat otaku but only because I vaguely remember he used to be a Sargon orbiter kinda? I feel like him and some guy with a creepy Asian fetish and a French name like Louis le something or other went after metokur for making fun of Sargon.

Since last year, international credit card companies and payment processors have been seemingly targeting major Japanese content platforms, sending requests for adult content on them to be removed or censored, and one-sidedly terminating payment options. Recent cases include the doujinshi manga chain Melonbooks, which cannot receive payment via Visa or Mastercard anymore, and the out-of-print manga archive Manga Library Z, which had to shut down entirely after losing practically all methods of receiving payment from its users.

The issue has been garnering a lot of criticism both in Japan and globally, especially due to the fact that platforms for self-published works and fanart seem to be the biggest targets. Even figures like NieR: Automata creator Yoko Taro have spoken out on the issue, calling the pressure international payment processors exert on Japanese content platforms “dangerous” for how it jeopardizes free expression.

But what do the credit card companies in question have to say about the matter? Recently, Visa’s Japanese subsidiary, Visa Worldwide Japan Co., held a briefing to talk about its local expansion strategies (as reported by Impress Watch). During the Q&A session of this briefing, the company’s president and representative director Seetan Kitney was asked about why Visa is becoming unusable on sites selling adult content that’s legal in Japan.

In response, Kitney commented that while Visa’s policy is to make legal and legitimate purchases available as much as possible, it is “sometimes necessary to deny use to protect the brand.” He goes on to say that these are “complex decisions involving both global and local policies” and that “it is important to maintain sincerity and integrity, and we will continue to do so,” which suggests that the company does not intent to change its stance. There is no specific explanation provided as to what kind of global and local policies Visa’s decisions are being determined by.

Yeah I think SFO helped Don Sargone by catfishing people. tucking his genitals on webcam in an attempt to obtain blackmail nudes. GamerGate stuff, before my time. Null also talked about him a few months back because he was caught flirting with trannies whilst having (a very ugly) girlfriend. The Internet would unironically be much better if Keemstar were to get a virus that disabled his voice and fingers.

Slightly off topic, but I’ve always taken for granted that the “horrifying” react was supposed to be like a human thigh bone, implying cannibals or skellingtons, that kind of horrifying: 🦴

But recent closer examination of the actual sticker icon leads me to believe that is not the case. What is the horrifying icon??

I too thought it was a bone but it is actually based on Chris Chan’s taint piercing AKA the Unclit.
 
There have been some developments in the wonderful world of Manga. A new Manga called Drama Queen has come out with one chapter and it has already upset Xitter and probably bluesky but I have a normal white blood cell count and don't use bluesky.

I have read it and to give a brief summary of the plot so far. Aliens have come to earth after having saved the planet from a big meteor and are now absolutely everywhere on the planet. The two protagonists absolutely hate them and are generally displeased with society and it's acceptance of the aliens. The female protagonist works at a fast food place and her alien boss lights himself on fire and dies but smells delicious. When she meets a fellow racist he brings a dead alien by her house and when discussing how to get rid of the body she eats him and declares the alien flesh to be tasty. They then decide that the man will kill the aliens, and she will eat them as a tag team to get rid of all the aliens.

I finally finished the 24th of November's MATI, and when the Far Cry 5 song came on at the end, I nearly spontaneously combusted. Null has epic taste. My friend, who is no longer with us, and I used to always talk about that game, so it means a lot to me on a sentimental level. It was doubly weird, because I'd made a Far Cry 5 reference in his lolcow thread, just two days after the stream, which I didn't see.
