Great stream today Josh.:tomgirl:

When you talked abiut drive by wire, it reminded me of the pilot episode of The Lone Gunmen, an X-Files spin off. In it they find out there was a plot to kill one of the guys dad because he found plans about using the same tech to control planes. The target was the twin towers. Show aired in March 2001. Just reminded me of it is all.

I'm actually furious, I had to leave my old place ad set up again and they said they had highspeed but I am convinced they either just lied or they're throttling. I don't have a place to mount, I already packed up, I'm ready to go, I'm just waiting for my ticket. At this point I just want to fucking take off but I had a good thing going, we hit over 4000 during the election, that momentum actually stuck, and now it's just squandered. Every time I get a good thing going it just fucking falls apart in my hands.
Trump's inauguration is the 20th and odds are there will be a good amount of chimping out. Get clips together of the freakouts between 11/5 and 1/20 to fill dead air and stream the inauguration freakouts and riots live. It's no election night but it could be a good "event stream" to build that viewership back up after the hiatus.

Hey man don't worry. Once you're back stateside it'll be the year of MATI. Fiber connection all day every day, symmetric. You'll have more bandwith than you'll know what to do with

Josh is in a doomer grumpy mood so he won't listen to any suggestion, but ever since the chingchong virus was a thing lots of alternatives to having to work at home came into existence.

Just like in every major city, the Internet cafés, working spaces and even some regular cafes have adapted to the demand and offer exactly what you need, which is an isolated space with stable Internet and electricity in which you could plug in your laptop and your microphone and do your stream without any issue.

Consider that he streams either 6PM or *midnight* local time, those might be closed or close to closing time

Bro I am so blackpilled on the Internet situation
What if you'd stream from a remote desktop on some server with a stable connection? That way most of the bandwith *you'd* need would be download as everything would play/stream from a server somewhere god-knows-where, and the only upload you'd need would be a couple of kilobits to stream audio to that server. I know I know it's fucking cumbersome, but it's a much better shot at streaming than what you have right now. I think a basic bitch windows VM somewhere plus a MS RDP client is all you'd need. Hell I could even hook you up if neither you nor crunklord want to get your hands dirty with it

@Null youve said a few times you run the audio version of the podcast through some processing when done. What exactly do you do to it or run it through?

@Null here's my idea.

Kiwi-themed Yule log. Crackling fire, kiwis in Santa hats and slobbermutt. Christmas music mixed with lolcow classics like the Reshiram song. Message on the screen to send in superchats which you will read and react to in a local recording. Leave it running for 3 hours, who cares if the stream gets interrupted since you're not saying anything to get interrupted. Release the recording halfway through December to give people their MATI fix and maintain audience continuity.

maintain audience continuity.
Only real way to do this with actual effect is to maintain a regular weekly show, whether it is prerecorded or not; I listen to the previous day’s MATI on the way to work, if there’s nothing then I just find something else to listen to instead I imagine most people are the same. There will obviously be a core audience that will tune back in when streams resume but a bunch will just fall off due to finding something else to fill their time slot

This is just the human condition though
Yeah it is. I don't claim to have any special insight into the Slobbermutt Psyche and I didn't create the Josh Cycle™ to display any such insight.
I made it to be insulting because it amused me, and because it seemed more fun than writing a bunch of gay platitudes about how everything will get better and there's no need to cope and seethe over a minor setback.

Trevor Moore didn't die from being locked in a CIA controlled car. He got drunk and fell off a roof.

Imagine believing the government

from here:
I've always wondered if Soviet-style censorship & disinformation tactics were shared with Western powers once the Iron Curtain fell.
I say this because I keep seeing more and more people nowadays draw comparisons between the censorship of speech & control of information in communist states and the state of Western media (in all aspects. MSM, social media, etc.)
I can see where the comparison comes from, but it's an interesting comparison to make now when we have had a nearly century-long Cold War between the East and West.

When you look up Smith-Mundt, you'll get a "FACT CHECK" pushed as a highly ranked result on Bing, but I remember reading about it on boingboing when it was news. They used the Michael Hastings Buzzfeed article as their source, and this was back when left-leaning sites were more mistrustful of government propaganda, even under Obama.
Other timely articles, from Business Insider, The Atlantic, and Foreign Policy, were also skeptical, or at least acknowledged the obvious spin put on the act by its shills.

He fell and broke his head stumbling home drunk.

I'm not saying I disbelieve it was foul play; in fact, the idea of drunkenly falling off one's own 2nd -storey balcony is so improbable that it's more in line with TBTB to make it look like a sloppy job as intimidation intentionally, but that is the official story.

Holy shit I honestly believed the initial story I read the day of his passing that he'd left his home and just fell over dead. I suspected a fentanyl cover-up from embarrassment or something like that but I hadn't read about him falling to his death from the second story. Is there some kind of conspiracy surrounding the story? I only remember at the time the whitest kids got back together to do very successful Livestreams which turned into D&D sessions by the time of his passing.
