There have been other instances of tournaments being ruined by people sperging out, getting drunk and bashing machines, or just generally being insufferable to everyone around them while getting their disgusting sticky hands all over the flipper buttons. As to why this happens, I think pinball sits basically in the middle of a venn diagram of autists, boomers, and generally weird people. I'm at least one of those, though for me it's also about fixing up machines since I own two of em along with a couple arcade cabinets. At least the tournaments by me generally are pretty good, makes a big difference when a tournament director will just tell someone to fuck off if they're being disruptive.

I think I’ve come across an element that explains part of the cultural disconnect between the DSP board and the rest of the Farms: during the pedo banning segment, DSP’s justification for his reluctance to act on the pedo’s banning was that vectors for criticism he knows about are more easily managed when it’s within his sight, and by banning said user DSP loses his one perceived advantage. Contrast with DSP’s stance on the continued existence of the DSP board, that Null should tak what could only be described as a preemptive role in moderating other’s actions off-site, and you have an intellectual inconsistency. While frustrating, such an inconsistency should only be pertinent while the interview was contemporary; but a vocal-enough subset of DSP detractors create a catalogue of these inconsistencies, each supposedly being irrefutable evidence that DSP is the worst man on the Internet.

A point Null brought up briefly that I wish he had hammered in more to DSP when they were discussing the existence of the DSP board, was that, should Null decide to remove the DSP board from the site, the detractors would disperse to other platforms: namely Discord. Not only would this not guarantee improvement in DSP’s situation, but it more likely would degrade it. One of the most under-spoken moderating aspects is the fact that the Farns are publicly-facing, owes entirely to Null’s stalwart insistence it remain so. On Discord, not only would that moderating force no longer exist, but the invite-only nature of the platform means the inherent lack of reason when it comes to gossip, especially online, is fed back into itself until it extends beyond what is reasonable.
 
is there an easily downloadable copy of KC's stream? I really regret not recording Discord but OBS wouldn't pick it up.

I ran into an issue earlier using yt-dlp to download from kick.com. No matter what VPN endpoint I used, I was getting 403 forbidden errors. If you have this problem, it's caused by Cloudflare. You can fix it by using the --user-agent and --cookies-from-browser options as described in the yt-dlp FAQ (a).

PPP's interview questions are better than expected and I'm impressed he reset the conversation during lag & deliberately steered the discussion to make sure Josh nor Phil were too quiet or left out. There was a lot of back & forth and everybody was engaged.

Warski is useless and I hate his shredded larynx voice
