The Reichstag Fire was an arson of the Reichstag by communist revolutionaries (allegedly) which Hitler used to push for the Enabling Act, which Reichspraesident Hindenburg was compelled consent to. It gave Hitler a lot of power which had prior been split between him and the President.

Yeah I realized that after the edit. It's still an absolutely retarded take, I know that Trump is 'literally hidlur' but McKinley's assassination basically giving the Progressives carte blanche or what happened in Russia after the attempted and successful assassinations on Alexander II are closer to any plausible fallout.
