Honestly, I just wish people could muster up a 10th of the outrage when Epik games made Deserts of Kharak, a single player game, online only in a sneaky patch, years after release.

I’d chip in $100 to sue Epik for quietly Eula-roofieing all their customers. There are hundreds of coomer games to play if I decide I want to see more ass. The real issue we need to organize and fight are publishers deciding you don’t own the game you bought.

Shit like this is why I don't trust Cart Narc shit at all. Having retards like this running around enforcing petty minor rules with a smartphone and a whiny voice is always going to be a worse social detriment than people occasionally flouting those rules. The entire point of the shopping cart test is that it's an INVISIBLE test of character. If some sped is running around enforcing it, it isn't an invisible test of character anymore, now is it?

I said during stream. I find the slacktivist petition bullshit to be the disgusting habits of a lazy and complacent consumer base that will literally accept every shovelfull of shit they get without ever, even once, doing anything meaningful and effective to action the change they want to see.

People focus entirely what was covered up, which is 0% of what I actually care about. That's my entire point. Nobody is going to look at company costume edits, especially extremely superficial ones like this, and think "wow this is too far, time to sign that petition" unless they're meek and mild gaymers that get upset at every stupid fucking thing.

The real cause is the false advertising, which exists, and has legal remedies for.

I explained this on stream, twice: once at the beginning, once during the superchats. I now write this for you again. There is not a single sentiment or idea expressed in this post which was not written or spoken prior for you. Hence, my frustration and contempt. I hate having to repeat myself. I especially hate having my point, which has been made clear and obvious to anyone with a fucking brain, deliberately misinterpreted by angry do-nothing crybaby gaymers who just want to find reasons to be upset. Let me try to reword Null's position and see if it helps.

First, there was a kerfuffle, and he explained what it was. He personally thinks it's stupid, but that doesn't mean he can't do the hypothetical of granting it's somewhat relevant/important - and then says that a petition is bullshit and does nothing, but actually even just threatening to sue under some form of reasonable "false advertising" claim is the most functional way to go. If everyone bitching about it would pony up half the cost of the game, they'd have a legal chest that could at least make someone at Sony notice them, senpai. Would they lose the case? Maybe. But there's at least as much chance that Sony Legal would tell Sony Faggots to add a "coomer checkbox" to the game to make the problem go away.

The autistic screeching reveals that they're too stupid/chickenshit to even do that step, they just want to bitch and have everyone high-five them in their bitching. So painfully useless.

What's even more amusing about the whole thing is that a couple of years ago Null would likely have said "legal lawfare is useless, you can't get enough money to make it matter" - but his personal experience with the site has made him realize that no, if you actually have a group behind your stupid ass, you can do stuff with lawyers that is worthwhile and more than just bitching on the Internet.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. The coomers and the pro-gaymergators got themselves excited because the developers decided to use anti-censorship as a marketing pitch, and went right back to slacktivism and shitting themselves when localization decided that the costumes needed a little bit more modesty.

When the crowd is in that big a frothing, head exploding frenzy, going against the percieved grain will make yourself a target, like Null found out.

I'm pretty sure either this is reddit being retarded as usual or an actual joke because those Particle effects aren't a censor blur. That's just the underwater character ability particle effect, it just always hovers around the center of the player model.
I thought before checking the link this was the shit from a few years back where reddit people unironically claimed that the game was censored when it did the fade-out thing when you got too close to a character or aimed the camera upwards far enough because they literally kept trying to upskirt and ass shot characters and running into it. That outrage was infinitely more retarded because anyone without some kinda coombrain would instantly realize it's like that so you can still see what you're trying to look at with the camera. Mario games do the same shit but you don't see anyone saying "Ooh no i can't look at mario's ASS oh no!"

Which reminds me, people are surprised at the outburst at the game's censorship, but these kinds of coomers were always like this. Hissy manchildren who get mad whenever they feel like they're not being catered to enough. They don't give a rat's ass about actual censorship and are too beta to actually do anything other than bitch and whine. Genshin, being a chink game, had similar censoring happen which pissed off the player base. Obviously fighting against the CCP isn't really an option but I find the parallels hilarious.

Couldve sworn this was due to some feminist group in china, not the main CCP big boys themselves. Then again a lot of shit traces back to them over there so you could pretty much call almost anything CCP and be "right".
Anyways all this did was give everyone an extra outfit with the cutscene ones being the mild redesign. Only shit one IMO is the red girl, Amber due to the fact it removed the plain browns you'd expect seeing on someone who's supposed to be like some kinda ranger and replaced them with more ornate gold and white shit. No point to be pissy when you still have the fucking original designs in the game.

I'm not particularly bothered about mid-tier coomer bait games, but I think they are probably setting a bit of a bad precedent

It's not the only game in April alone that has removed content that could be perceived as 'male gaze' in a post launch update (they did the same with Tomb Raider remasters recently, removed a bunch of posters or something), so it's definitely a thing that is seeing an uptick, only time will tell if they'll do something more egregious I guess

Last minute removals or alteration of shit in games in general is becoming a pretty big fucking problem lately overall, not just coomer games or jokes getting axed from ports. That and the dialogue changes of old games to current year textwalls is some very interesting yet kinda exhausting phenomena to watch happen. It's almost exclusively the english language releases of games that pull this shit too.


EDIT: It's even been happening to the bing bing wahoo games of all things! I fucking forgot about the TTYD shitshow where they just stripped all mention of romance or small bitsof flavor text from the game and replaced it with either rushed generic stuff or scribes changing the context of scenes completely.
Can't have goombas flirt like inner city kids anymore, it's racist or sexist or something.
EDITX2: Shit I didn't realize they changed the insults directed at females from various different kinds to "Oh you're so smart you're a bookworm!" I'm fucking dying this is hilarious.

I was disappointed by Josh's take on the Stellar Blade's censorship and implying that some of these people were pedos, but they did not help their case by actively being pro pedo, specially after reading ~10 pages of argument against them. Well, at least I didn't pre order the game like all of them so I guess I got lucky. I understand his perspective and his hatred for coomer consumers.

Also Stellar Blade become the higher user rated PS5 game (9.2) alongside with Cyberpunk2077 Ultimate Edition and Resident Evil 4 Remake: Separate Ways Expansion. Both of these games (cyberpunk and re4), in my opinion, are bad. IDK what that says about Stellar Blade.
