Shepherds and Huskies are part of those breeds of dogs where they're so smart they're hard to train. Much like our favorite feeder it looks like they have a case of ODD, I believe the same can be said of the Akita and Shiba Inu. Very hard headed and definitely not for a first time dog owner.

I'm a Chow Chow gal myself. They're aloof and you need to be careful of breeding lines, some are much more aggressive than others, but are very low energy and almost cat like which I prefer. I play with mine and take her on walks a couple times a week but most of the time she's completely fine to just laze around the house which is compatible for my energy levels. Shedding wise I don't notice a lot, her coat is pretty thick and it seems when she sheds it gets compacted in there. Nothing like our huskies but I do make sure to get her groomed every 8 weeks and that keeps her coat in good shape.

I've noticed women definitely groom their dogs more than men do. I certainly don't groom my dog very much, just the occasional brushing since she's very short haired.

Come to think of it. Kiwifarms might be the only place I post and talk online that isn't 99% men. It's very weird to see a thousand articles talking about the blood soaked murder site and then I open it up in my downtime just to talk about dogs and cheese with a bunch of ladies.

Ok, trying not to take it personally. Dobermans might be a good option. Dobermans and Rottweilers are not neighbor dogs like pitties. Rotties in my experience will get worked up and bite, but it's a thoughtless chomp and not the death grip pibbles have. Nor do either breed in my experience get violent off their territory. But Dobermans are what pitmommies think their pibbles are. They can be insanely defensive, but it's controlled, and I have never seen it directed at family or any strangers their master is acting comfortable with. They are extremely needy, but not in an abrasive way, they just want to be with you and get your approval. Dobermans might be more what you want because Poodles are working dogs, they are retrievers, and they have that energy. Dobies are just want to be a statue we with your hand on them. No grooming but I do think they shed, but it's not horrible like a Golden Retriever.

Another one that kinda fits the bill is an Airedale Terrier. Smart like a poodle, needs to be groomed like a poodle. They have a job and that's murder. If you're not good at keeping them disciplined they will go out and kill small critters, cats chickens, etc. Not people aggressive. Their face hair means they are sloppy like a slobber dog, but it's from drinking. Great companions, they are devilishly smart, but they can be a handful if you're not prepared to be a good dog owner.

Most importantly, get pure breeds from a reputable breeder, that's going to cost you a couple thousand at least. Don't buy cheap purish breeds from unaccredited breeders, in that case just roll the dice on a random mutt that's 75-80% what you want. Odds of what you're gonna end up with are about the same, but you're not dropping a few hundred and you're helping with all the retarded poor people that are over populating the dog and cat population even faster than they are overpopulating the welfare state.[/b][/b]

This is the best advice anyone can give when it comes to getting a dog, especially if you have littles. A reputable breeder does health testing to make sure the dog doesn't have hip, eye, or joint problems and normally means the parents are show quality. You also can meet the parents and get an idea of their personality, a Chow Chow breeder from NC I know specifically requires you to meet the parents before you can apply. Some also offer health guarantees so if, God forbid, something does happen you can get a different puppy or if for some reason you cannot keep your dog due to lifestyle changes you just bring the dog back to the breeder.
A lot of them are very serious about that because they spend a lot of time, money, and love into these dogs and don't want them in pounds or shelters which is why most shelters you will find pibbles or any other variety of mixed-breed dog since any breeder worth their salt makes sure Hell or highwater that dog is getting back to them. None of this applies to puppy mills which should all be executed.

Edit: There are some websites where you can attempt to adopt purebreeds that are normally from breeder retirement but be weary, there's some breeds I wouldn't adopt at all because of their temperament. There's also websites that advertise "pure breed" but over 90% are little pibbles. I showed it to my friend once when I was dog hunting and he was shocked, it was literally 3/4s of them were just straight up pitties.

My sister had a European Doberman and something I can add is that it was an attention-getter like no other dog I've known. What I mean is that people of all varieties would approach me just to talk about this dog (it was large and handsome, kinda magnificent when I look back on photos of it though I didn't really appreciate this at the time). I'd walk past groups of people who'd be talking amongst themselves but all be looking at me and the dog as they did, it was kinda wild at first, maybe because I much prefer small dogs so it surprised me. I remember telling my sister "This is a high-status dog" or something like that because that's how it felt.

/Edit - here's a couple of pics of the dog as a pup and then slightly older pup. It died during surgery at about 3y/o, pretty sad. My sister definitely liked this dog more than any of the others she's had.

Which reminds me too, if the price is kind of daunting, but a pure breed is what you really want, in my experience respectable hobby breeders are sometimes open to bartering. You're not going to get the pick off the litter, you might have to wait for one that has minor issues(my first poodle was a barter for a dog that has minor teeth issues that they couldn't justly selling at full price), or you might get a dog that is a year or two old returned(which can be a die roll, but I'd take over a backyard breeder or a mostly one breed mutt). Those might be available for significantly less, or you might be able to work out some sort of deal like building and setting up hosting(obviously not tied to your infrastructure) a website to advertise their dogs.

Since saying nice things about this movie pisses people off, I also want to say that the score is really really good.
They also cast French people for the French, Russian people for the Russians, British people for the British. Which is something that should absolutely not be taken for granted for the mainstream film industry.

I also should have said it is inaccurate and makes really unnecessary extrapolations about his personal life (which we know almost nothing about except for some letters). But I went into it expecting a drama, and got a good drama.

If I were to ever get a dog or a cat again, I would adopt them from the pound / rescue / whatever.

-No animal will love you more
-You get to feel like a hero
-Girls love you for being a hero
-Already potty trained and other important stuff

I would get two that get along / look like they would get along. Two animals may seem like more work, but it's actually less because you are not their only source of love and attention.

It's just a shitty and boring melodrama. Even without taking into account the "historical inaccuracies". Joaquin's weakest performance probably in his career and one of the most retarded scenes I've ever seen.

It's so dumb how all the English had to do was gather around in a cluster and shoot, while the French just went merry go around them like dumb asses instead of just running them over with their 9 foot horses.

4/10 even beta cucks can gather an army and conquer the world, I guess.
