ITs sad I enjoy consistancey over quality in this instance. Any chance for slow weeks you would do a non heavily researched where are they now (similar to your first year in review stream) for some of the people who you covered where another full people stream wouldn't make sense?

Jersh has stated this idea before. I'm not sure what the logic is behind it, but I'm willing to bet it germinated in and then grew out of the /v/ echo-chamber.

That's a shame because personally I prefer just listening to you ramble, even if it is about nonsense/unimportant shit. I'm one of the many people who listen to the streams while at work, so it is something I look forward to every Friday even if it is "mundane". I also liked the latest "variety episode", but I think it could use some polishing. The maintenance segments you had with the pigeons/garden was a good staple and way to start the stream after the song intro and served as a nice bridge between the opener and the "content" segments of the stream. Maybe finding something to replace that segment could help, like a brief coin update or like someone else suggested a "fan art" portion. I'm sure this has been suggested before but you can talk about the Highlights on the forum or a particular thread of interest for the week, but I know that requires homework and preparation that you don't always have time for.
 
Here is my nostradamus schizopost on Gator.

The unexpected twist is that Gator will get a gf.
Ralph will go to prison kicking off the prison saga in his epic. During Ralph's absence, Gator will in his mind project an idealized Ralph that constantly encourages him and because of that, become more and more confident going into the prison saga. He will do some CRP/incel/pua coaching shit like that landing zone in Ukraine but less psychotic and it will somehow work in turning him into someone barely attractive enough for some girl to find to be in her league.
Remember that while a grocery-bagging McJob is far from engaging or impressive, it's still a job and if he's a man who can get up every day, drive himself to work with a car and hold a job for extended periods of time, that already puts him miles above a lot of guys and girls his age.
And I don't know who is out there slapping around women and calling them whores left and right or otherwise humiliating and shaming them, but June isn't an outlier, it's like more and more women of our generation are starting to eat humble pie and introspect and suddenly consider guys who are in their league (and above it) to be in their league.
This trend and the uptick in Gator's life, will intersect with him actually getting a gf. And the next saga will be the love triangle saga where Gator is torn between his daytime persona of the boyfriend with a McJob and his night time persona of being the Igor to Ralph's Frankenstein, serving him as his out-of-prison correspondent.
The love triangle saga will reach its climax with the girlfriend giving him an ultimatum between her and Ralph, Gator will be unable to make a decision, it will cost him his relationship and he will get extremely addicted to some hard drug.

It wasn't successful* at all, it was one of Blizzard's flash in the pans that was popular for a couple of weeks then faded into obscurity like Hearthstone.


*I am not defining success as made money, I am defining success as "Achived the goals the game set out to do" and Blizzard chasing the Esports bug has fundamentally never succeeded in creating a lasting property outside of Starcraft in Korea.

I agree that the powers that be are trying to pull back the gas. I think the next trend is to convert people from left-right streaming politics to a 'wholesome' apolitical Christianity like shoe is moving towards or the CHRIST IS KANG variety like ralph and fuentes. One is the evolution of the soft uwu e-girl aesthetic who wants attention and the other is following around internet blowhards. I think you called it a fake christian larp, it is about being 'wholesome' or 'based' with only performative posting about it. I think it appeals to aging millenials who are desperate for structure but still want to cast themselves as rebels against the system and also don't want to shift from their foundation in 2000s anti-bush liberalism. It cuts out all the radical teeth of politics and ignores anything 'icky' about traditional society in the bible. Shoe's flirting with that catfish about a BASED traditional transsexual family was her first step towards it.

This is why you're seeing a rise in demonic being used as an insult. I think its origins were with the surge of online traditional catholics around 2015, but their group has died off or gone offline. A lot of their terminology still exists in online religious circles. Generic right wing twitter accounts use demonic now as an insult. It was absorbed by fuentes and torba and is now spreading out into whatever sphere ralph is part of. Gator started saying you were demonic because he uses whatever words that show he is BASED and REDPILLED. Calling people demonic is the hot new thing. It'll probably become a new version of 'problematic' or 'toxic'. I expect Jim to use it on twitter in a few months.

The porn stuff is also part of that. I expect their to be a wider push against porn because of this. It'll be called unwholesome because it victimizes women and is demonic. It also seems like porn is just getting harder to exclusively host? Both pornhub and xhamster have been limiting their users, onlyfans tried to pivot away from it, and I expect the reddit IPO will see a crackdown on porn. Porn is the one thing keeping reddit popular. Like you said a few weeks back, porn is one of the few things it is easy for a new website to grow off of. Part of this is definitely to make it harder to build up competitors to big sites, but I can't say it is one giant plan. Nothing to do with your video game predictions, but I feel the opposite about irl porn.

You got me thinking it all seems to be part of one wider social trend.
