I'd just say that Josh is being imprecise to be focusing his shaming on the tastes of the anime creators.
Most of them working in the industry have to stick to a very strict industry template weather they like it or not if they wanna be payed.
While I'd say it is reasonable to criticize them for contributing to the industry, the main driving force that shapes anime's mentally inbred standards is the autistic
hikikomori market demographic. While individually they don't usually have that much money, they will contribute more of what they have than anyone else would.
I think it's kinda like the Thot and the Simp question. Which is the root of the industry?
