I was kind of active in the BL community when I was young, don't remember much but one thing that always stood out to me was how openly, aggressively hostile Badspot was to his community. The only times he would interact with anybody were to either participate in mudflinging in a drama thread or scream at somebody for not being a 1000IQ expert at piecing together his shitty, undocumented arcane modding system. I think his intentionally antagonistic nature contributed to the hostility of BLF because it encouraged people to fuck with him by causing him problems, since he'd always give an outlandish reaction and dig himself an even deeper hole. It helped that he had an undeserved massive ego as A GODDAMNED PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER PROGRAMMER who could do no wrong.

I envy your optimism in modern parenthood. The amount of neglect going on with kids since the mid-2000's is so bleak it's morally crippling.
When Chatroulette came around, I remember checking them out and finding them amusing for a very brief moment. What made me stop and never go back: the majority of others I connected with being 50 percent minors and 50 percent some guy cranking his dick. That's just an example, and that was a specific Internet thing that was glaringly questionable. With things like Roblox or even Discord, parents are more likely to turn a blind eye to it than they were to things like Chatroulette where they STILL had no idea their kids were on there.
You don't have to have fucked up parents to be fucked up. Absent parents are enough.

The world was different back then. My classmates were sending each other gay porn and suicide videos on the school computers as pranks. Teachers never did anything until some kid vomited after watching the Dwyer video and ruined the PC.

My folks didn't really understand the Internet when I was a kid, a point I shall illustrate with a true story.

Some of you may recall a content creator from the early days of the Internet named Knox, aka Robert Benfer. He was known for making a series of claymation videos with blue clay men, and spelling clay with a K. While his videos survive to this day on his YouTube channel, his work actually predates YouTube itself and was originally hosted on his own website known then as Knox's Korner. On Knox's Korner there was a chatbox where users could post messages on a scrolling feed in real time using chosen names. No account or log in was required, tbh I don't remember if that was even an option. Anyway one day on the chatbox dumb kid me was goofing off with some other idiots. I do not recall the specifics but somehow the premise became some of us were up in a tree exchanging gunfire with the others. In practical terms this consisted of spamming the chat with the word "BANG!" It was at this point my mother came into the computer den to check on me and was horrified because she saw the chat full of BANGing and assumed it was some kind of sex thing. She forbid me from ever going on the chatbox again under threat of not being allowed to use the computer.

As silly and misguided as that may sound, at least she was vigilant and looking out for me, right? Well that's where you're wrong, kiddo. With the chatbox denied to me, I returned to another source of amusement in those days, RuneScape. This was back when what we call Old School RuneScape today was just normal RuneScape (technically it was RuneScape 2 but no one called it that, instead referring to the original as RuneScape Classic), and on RuneScape there was actual sex chats happening all the time and people dancing at eachother to simulate fornication. Yet my folks never cared about me playing RuneScape beyond worrying that an hour or two was too long to play it on a school night. Also they absolutely never trusted online transactions so I never got membership even if it could have been deducted from my allowance. To this day if they want something from Amazon I order it for them and have it shipped to their house then my dad writes me a check to cover the cost and gives it to me the next time I see them.

Is it/would it be legal in the US to charge a deposit to file DMCA claims? Like you pay $100 and if the claim is approved (by the platforms legal team) you get the money back, if it's fair use then the money goes to the victim of the false claim.

I was allowed since even before than Null, admittedly this puts me in a younger spot. Nothing good has come from it, nothing at all.

That's why nobody cares when the Blockland shit is brought up because it's this same story every time. Someone who is mad digging up shit from 16 years ago and taking it out of context and pretending Josh was older than he actually was. It's so boring.

Gaytor is like 35 and in current day creeping out women who want nothing to do with him and masturbating to women pretending to be cartoon children. You don't need to go back more than a couple hours on his Twitter timeline for this and that's why he's mad.

Gator is actually pathetic. Anyone who had early internet access has cringe shit online. Lucky for me my rich friend paid to host this anime themed message board. When he lost interest and stopped paying all of my early teenage cringe got lost to the ages. But I know many people aren’t that fortunate. I have to wonder though, what kind of gay cringe shit would we find if Gators past got dredged up? Null had the excuse of being a teenager, what’s gators excuse for his retard behavior now? Maybe we can ask his totally real Puerto Rican gf what he was like
